Lenovo ThinkCentre A61e

5 September 2014
  • Summary: Any business interested in cutting its power bills generated by its work-a-day desktop fleet might be interested in the ThinkCentre A61e, but home office workers or anyone interested in a smaller PC should stay far away from this system that has a major performance and features deficit compared to other small desktops.
  • Pros: Small, power-conscious design; strong suite of recovery and system management software.
  • Cons: Power-savings sacrifices too much performance; spare features compared to other, less expensive desktops; limited expandability options.

  • Summary: Not contented to be just another typical business PC the Lenovo ThinkCentre A61e is an environmentally friendly, compact business PC solution with a lot of potential. It's not a hugely powerful performer, but we like the small form factor and quiet operation, plus the optional solar panel sounds promising.
  • Pros: Form factor, optional solar panel, low noise emission, easy maintenance
  • Cons: Few upgrade options, monitor not included
