  • Summary: I bought this computer in December 2013 and I am not real impressed with its performance. What's worse, yesterday (Aug 2014), it needed to be restarted to update. When it came back on, I got the error 162: no operating system found. I take that as it's trash now. My son and I both need it for school. I guess I'm going to have to go get a new computer at best buy or something. I'll probably never get another lenovo.

Had problems right away.

  • Summary: Had problems right away. Something started popping up almost as soon as I got it about computer had viruses. Had no idea what it could be as machine is brand new. Called Lenovo to see if they could help. Told it was a software problem and they or the insurance I bought from amazon would not cover software problems. They offered a software coverage for $179.00 a year. Should have sent it back right then. I kept it, between the machine and Windows 8 I'm very disappointed.

B540 driver issues in windows 8

  • Summary: There seem to be some driver issues with the Lenovo B540 in Windows 8 that haven't been addressed yet. I bought this computer for my mom at Christmas time and it worked okay but after using it for a few months she's been having issues that can't be resolved. Others on the web have reported the same issues in Lenovo and Microsoft support forums. 1) Charm bars will not open when hovering the mouse to the edge of the screen.

  • Summary: I bought the PC less than a month ago. I was happy with the product until it suddenly crushed without warning. I contacted the Lenovo support. After a lengthy over-the-phone diagnosis, I was told that the problem was the mother board. 3 days later, a Lenovo's service technician came and replaced the board. However, the BIOS was not updated, and the technician was not authorized to do so onsite.

Worse than the specs imply

  • Summary: Specs look good, but not well put together, no product support from manufacturer and struggles with tasks such as playing blu-rays. Hard drive is slow - I replaced mine with a SSD, which was difficult as the drive bay is unconventional. Monitor is very fiddly trying to combine external HDMI (in/out) with built in screen, e.g. BIOS only shows on external monitor. Having spent so much money, I was expecting a more polished experience.
