HP TouchSmart IQ810

CNET
30 December 2008
  • Summary: We really like all-in-one PCs, but the IQ810 is rather pointless. Touchscreen displays don't really work on screens of this size because they make your arm tired from waving all over the place. If you want an all-in-one PC there are better designed options available
  • Pros: Attractive to look at; wireless keyboard, mouse and remote.
  • Cons: Glossy screen is too reflective; average performance; hefty price.

HP TouchSmart IQ816

CNET
12 December 2008
  • Summary: No other all-in-one PC can offer touch-based input or an LCD screen as large as that of the HP TouchSmart IQ816. It's hard to deny that those features make this a compelling desktop for families with a place to put it.
  • Pros: Largest screen among mainstream all-in-one PCs; unique touch-based interface; public TouchSmart development kit could expand touch software library; convenient expandable hard-drive bay.
  • Cons: Weak audio output; performs like a $600 desktop; non-VESA-standard wall mount.

HP TouchSmart IQ816

PC Magazine
7 November 2008
  • Conclusion: HP's newest TouchSmart is bigger and better, yet some quirks remain. If you want a huge touch-screen PC and are prepared to pay a premium, the TouchSmart IQ816 is worth a look.
  • Pros: Large widescreen. Touch-sensitive interface. Blu-ray. 1080p-compatible display. Wireless everything. Speedier than the IQ506. ATSC HDTV tuner. Pocket Media Drive bay.
  • Cons: Short (60-day) subscription to Norton Internet Security. Screen doesn't quite fill the bezel. Blu-ray drive is player only. Some crapware.
