Hard drive died suddenly. Less than a year of service

Summary: I really do like this machine, reasonably smooth and fast. Used in my shop mostly for internet radio and photo album work. Fortunately I never stored anything on this machine of any consequence. Purchased new in October 2012 and yesterday September 19/2013 the hard drive stopped working. If you consider buying one of these machines, buy the extended warranty and back up the entire hard drive regularly! It seems the hard drive installed wasn't ready for prime time.
Summary: I really do like this computer but the only reason why I give it one star is because it's my third computer it took three computers to get one good one first two were no good . The first one the TV tuner didn't work the second one that I received was dead when i call HP no help first day I got it hp wanted me to send in for service instead returning it because customer service was so poor I think this will probably be the last HP that I will but.
Summary: I bought the HP TouchSmart and have nothing but trouble with it. The DVD drive died and when I called HP Warranty, I was on the phone for 3 hours. After getting transferred a million times and having to re-explain the problem each time, they finally decided they'd send a tech out to my house. The tech arrived a few days later and could not fix the problem. He too was on the phone waiting for another 2 hours to get someone who could help.
Summary: My wife does a great deal of genealogical research that requires reviewing PDFs of old hand written documents and being able to zoom in quickly and easily discern the correct spelling of the name. A much larger touch screen with easy zoom capabilities would be very helpful and speed up the process.
Summary: The first one had all kinds of trouble booting up and miscellaneous glitches. I thought it may have suffered damage during shipping, but it had all kinds of problems. It wouldn't boot up right, the screen would freeze repeatedly, and all kinds of weird little glitches that made me think a new one would solve the problem. I returned it and ordered another. (FYI, Amazon only reimbursed me $30 of the $70 UPS shipping, cheapest method available).
Summary: I am disappointed that a new item, supposedly off the shelf has not lived up to what was expected. The keyboard and the mouse, both wireless have been unable to synocronize withthe the the machine. Now I am faced with the issue of returning the items and have to pay shipping. All help on the Customer Service links were of no use. Any ideas anybody?
Summary: Got it two weeks ago. Video Card is messed up. DIsplay starts to go "funny" at random. Happened once about a week ago and now several times within last 24 hours. Returning mine to AMAZON. Will buy again if HP gives me a long replacement warrenty at no charge.
