I LOVE MY NEW DESKTOP
8 April 2013
Summary: I'm a college student, and this is the first desktop I ever bought. That was nerve-wrecking enough, and I was even more nervous with it being an online purchase. But I do not regret one bit of it. The price is incredibly low for a computer that functions this well.
Summary: I love this PC. I was coming off a very unpleasant experience with Dell when I bought it and it has never let me down. The one and only time I called support I was very pleased. The tech was easy to understand and very patient with this old lady!
Pros: RUNS FAST WHEN IT WANTS TO. SMALL FITS IN LITTLE SPACES,
Cons: LOT OF PROBLEMS, SHUTS DOWN WITHOUT NOTICE, NO VIRUSES, LOT OF HP POP UPS IN THE MIDDLE OF YOUR WORK, LOSES USB CONNECTIONS THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THEY COME BACK, WHERE THEY WENT WHO KNOWS. NOISEY, FAN RUNS ALL THE TIME,
Summary: Graphics performance somewhat limited, but adequate for everyday tasks.
Pros: Very solid and highly responsive performance, perfect for our multi-user office. Great price.
Cons: DVD ROM was broken right out of the box, and on first start-up Win7 was recovering from an unexpected shut-down. This makes me wonder about the recertification process. I decided to purchase a 3rd party DVD burner and got the thing running one week later. Did this PC ever undergo a check-up after...
Summary: I spent less than 400 on the system and with the upgrades I want to make I will spend an additional 500-600. That is a total of 900-1000 where the final system will be the equivalent of a 1500-1800 system in processing, RAM, PSU and Vid quality. Great buy!
Pros: The computer runs my 3D modeling programs pretty easy. I seldom get lag unless I am sculpting on a 1m+ poly model. The entire PC is upgradable, if you know what you are doing. It's a slimline so it takes up little space. 64-bit system.
Cons: The integrated video is weak but this is typical with all integrated video. It's best to take video processing from the CPU and put on a GPU. It's a slimline so it has been difficult to find a card that will run on a 220w PSU. Also the LP cards usually don't fit the bracket on the back. BUT, as m...
Summary: NO FIREWIRE PORT. IMPOSSIBLE TO ADD A FIREWIRE PORT WITHOUT LOSING WIFI. IMPOSSIBLE TO ADD A FIREWIRE PORT EVEN WITH ETHERNET CABLE? (in my case a very long ethernet cable which I now have to buy) I require a firewire port to upload video from a videocam.
Summary: Pros: Slim, good value, not very loud unless put to maximum use. Cons: Integrated Graphics, Most slimline models come with the expansion bay at the bottom, Slow processor unless overclocked. The pc has almost no space for expansion, and gets very hot at times.
Summary: I purchased this PC in late April and a week ago it would not boot. After doing some diagnostics the report said there were no Windows OS files on the hard drive. I was able to copy my files onto a thumb drive. I called HP and they sent me a new hard drive 2nd Day FedEx.
