Summary: After about one year plus this computer I bought at a Staples in NYC died.... Local manager at Staples where I am residing now said ....(I had three year warranty - a nightmare in itself) said to me (a non tech type)that the slim line is basically a laptop in a pc body. Meaning all parts (graphics went kaputt!) are built into ONE motherboard.
Summary: I was so happy to have found this HP Slimline computer. I purchased this one to add to one I have already. It is an awesome computer to upgrade and use for all of my applications. Thank you very much!
Summary: I purchased this machine a year ago. Last week, the machine just won't boot up. After power on, nothing shows up on monitor. The video card is integrated with monther board, and I don't know what to do with it.
Summary: This new computer is working as advertised except for one small problem. Sometimes when I have to do a restart to upgrade downloads, it will not restart. I get a message that tells me my operating system is missing. I called HP and someone talked me thru a process that is a little aggravating but doesn't take very long. But, after what he told me the problem was, I'm wondering how long it will be before everything inside the computer shorts out and gets fried.
Summary: This computer was, and is, a great deal. BUT when I got it we could not hook it up through the DSL we had been using. BECAUSE it has the new windows7 OS. It works with some systems, not with others. I got on the internet and searched and found this happened to many others also. I tried the solutions I saw online but couldn't get it to work. An IT guy came by and fixed it while I wasn't there. It works fine now, great performance, but I don't know what he did.
Summary: My wife aand I are not computer "geeks". We do not build or expand computers. I mostly surf the internet, do research, and type papers. My wife surfs the internet and plays online games in her free time. We actually have the HP s5610y model. If you are an average computer user like we are, then this PC or the model s5610f is perfect. If you like to get "geeky with it" then you will probably be greatly dissapointed.
Summary: I PURCHASED THIS COMPUTER FOR HIS TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS. I AM SATISFIED WITH MY PC WHICH HAS VERY GOOD PERFORMANCE. IF IT HAD MORE RAM MEMORY COULD BE BETTER. THIS COMPUTER IS MORE COMPACT THAN EXPECTED AND HAS A VERY HIGH PERFORMANCE. IT HAS AN EXCELLENT QUALITY VIDEO.
Summary: when i first bought this and set it up it there was a constant need for online updates. with my limited understanding of computers i thought it was the computer's fault and gave this a bad review. now that the burn out phase is over this pc works just fine. it's small enough to sit on my desktop and hasn't caused any problems.
Summary: I should have bought this months ago, glad I did. Set up includes the easy transfer -- don't need Geek Squad for that! Total time for set up took me about 3 days (had a really old computer which took half a day to transfer files). Other things took me time to figure out, i.e., why my 8y.o. HP speakers don't work in this HP.Probably has something to do with Windows 7 more than the computer itself.
