Great PC for the price

Anonymous, Newegg
4 January 2008
  • Summary: I ordered this PC as a cheap second PC and have been delighted with the performance of it. the amount of stuff you get for the price is excellent, namely the amount of HD space and the RAM. I love the TV tuner and the ability to record shows right on the PC.
  • Pros: HD size (400gb), RAM (2gb), TV Tuner, memory card readers, built-in wifi, size of the PC ( I was able to bring to PC onto a plane as a piece of carry one luggage)
  • Cons: The one thing that is a small set back in the PC is the ability to upgrade it.Its not as noticable in this PC because you probably aren't going to want to upgrade the RAM, but in the cheaper models you may what to. The RAM is actually buried underneath the DVD drive (along with the HD) which mean...

User Review

Travis P., Newegg
26 November 2007
  • Summary: I bought two 1GB DDR2 memory chips to go with this computer. Before this computer I had a 733MHz Emachines running windows ME that was going on 8 years old so I've missed the progression of technology till now.
  • Pros: The price for what you get is great, dual core 2.6GHz processor, 2GB Memory, card reader, 360GB hard drive. I didn't expect this computer to be as good as it was, but I'm able to play Call Of Duty 4 (sacrificing image quality for performance on video card settings) just fine. Vista had some probl...
  • Cons: The video card not too great, I'm gonna be buying a new one soon. This model didn't come with a S-video out, but thats not a big deal at all, buying a new video card will fix that.

21 November 2007
  • Summary: Contrary to the previous review, you can install windows xp. The motherboard is based on the nvdia geforce 6150/nforce 430 chipset. Just download the drivers from nvidia and it works fine.
  • Pros: small, quiet, decent value
  • Cons: no physical backup discs

Great Price for a fast computer

Shawn E., Newegg
13 November 2007
  • Summary: I bought two of these systems for my kids, and for the price they have all the power they need.
  • Pros: The small footprint helps with my limited desk space. Setup was easy and everything was working right out of the box. This is a feature rich machine for te money.
  • Cons: The plastic door that hides the DVD/CD is a bit on the weak side.

Hope You Like Vista!

Christopher A., Newegg
7 November 2007
  • Summary: Ok, so 99% of the people who buy this will be happy with the OEM Vista install, but developers or other power users take note--there ought to be a "ONLY works with Vista" sticker on the box.
  • Pros: Nice, small form factor. Solid construction, nice case. Performance is fine. Built-in power supply, as opposed to some of the SFFs which achieve their small size by requiring a power supply "brick" a third the size of the case (are you listening, Apple?)
  • Cons: You'd better like Vista, or you're out of luck. I bought a couple of these as test machines, and was surprised to find that HP only provides Vista drivers for the built-in Ethernet interface, 802.11b/g interface, and several other peripherals, so if you want to wipe it clean and install Windows X...
