Summary: I shopped for a couple of months to find a computer that fit my price and spec requirements. I wanted plenty of RAM for photo editing and also be expandable for the future. I like that HP builds computers that are proven to be reliable and as trouble free as possible. Windows 7 took some getting used to, but the more I use it the more I like it. I use a host of peripherals and this model has 8 USB ports.
Summary: Wow. I had this computer about 3 weeks and it died. I couldn't believe that it would not start up after showing no signs of trouble. It worked fine out of the box, but it is going back in the box. I went in circles with the reboot and trying to start in "safe mode" all to no avail. I followed the directions of the PC Doctor (included software) that directed me to move all my files/programs to an external drive. That took, literally all night!
Summary: The HP Pavilion was an excellent purchase. I don't know why I put up with my old computer for as long as I did. I specifically was interested in using the new computer for photography. I use the Picasa program. The HP Pavilion was a great choice. The SD slot is conveniently located in the upper section of the tower. The HP Pavilion is much faster than my old computer. Delivery was quick, and I set the computer up without any assistance.
