I love this computer, even though it has a down fall
17 September 2011
Summary: I bought this computer in august 2010, because my old laptop(an acer)had basically started smoking. This was a great addition to my computer family. I love love love this computer. Windows 7 is great! I havent had any problems with it. I did not know that this computer frequently had front mic/speaker issues, but that i think is a motherboard problem(mines being fixed currently). the start up is fast and it does play really well.
Summary: This computer didn't work from the first attempt at even turning it on it just sat there fans running without actually starting up. Sent it to HP for service and they said they couldnt replicate the problem listed but found 4 others that they needed to repair. I got it back after 3 weeks and it ran another couple months until the warranty was up and now it just crashes about 10 times a day with the blank screen back and blue screens constantly.
Summary: I found this gem on woot.com a few days ago for $420 bucks and I jumped on it. For the specs, the price can't be beat. Even the asking from Amazon is pretty decent, considering the CPU and ram options. Setup was a piece of cake, as well as getting the whole thing hooked up and running. I would start off by uninstalling EVERYTHING HP includes, you don't need it.
Summary: I've had this computer up and running for a couple of weeks and am still in the WOW mode. It replaces my 6-year old computer that is busy trying to die and go to computer heaven. I'm an old retired guy who runs a volunteer free tax preparation program here in Florida, and definately a non-tech computer user. So I needed a machine that's good for number crunching, easy to setup and use, and absolutely reliable. This fits the bill so far.
Summary: I couldn't rate my new HP computer with 6GB-RAM/1T-ROM very high because the CD/DVD Drive stopped functioning. I suspect it is more the fault of the Windows7 system than the computer itself, but not being computer savvy, I wouldn't know. I am also disappointed that it doesn't accept several of my favorite past programs (those that are less than 32 or 64 bit).
Summary: I was able to pick this computer up for $450 from Amazon at the end of June which is an awesome deal for a quad-core PC. I just got the PC up and running yesterday and it was a snap. For a beginner user with Internet connectivity you can be up and running with this computer in less than a half hour including plugging everything in and setup. Registration took 5 minutes once I pushed the power button for the first time.
