  • Excerpt: I was having problems with my previous HP computer. I went to the local Staples store to see what was on sale. They had better prices on Dell and Toshiba laptops and desktops, but I have tried both of those brands and told them I only wanted to look at HP products. I debated between a laptop and desktop. Both were a little more than I wanted to spend, but I was not going to leave with a different brand and would rather buy at the store than on line for computer products.

Happily Up and Running

HP Pavilion 550-281, Staples
25 July 2014
  • Excerpt: Replaced my emachine with this HP model. Once I figured out the initial updates, etc. , it seems to meet my needs just fine. It is windows 7--I could have ordered a machine with windows 8 but the other specs were what I wanted. Surprised that it was not packaged with a monitor. Hoping that it lasts...

  • Pros: The computer is cheap for what is capable of with the A6 processor!

Great choice for home use

Gman24, Hewlett-Packard
23 May 2014
  • Summary: I purchased this system two weeks ago and have been completely satisfied so far. The setup was relatively easy for me because I had stored all my files on a cloud so transferring was easy. Windows 8 was not as difficult as many people claim, I believe the poor reviews of the windows software are simply from people who are not computer savvy, I had no major problems. I would recommend this product as a great home computer with plenty of features and speed.

A solid computer

Dave52, Hewlett-Packard
8 May 2014
  • Summary: This is a solid effort. I bought it to replace my 7 year-old HP PC and am considerably pleased. I was surprised that you can't add any additional interior drives, but other than that I can't fault it. It uses a 65-watt wall wart for power! But it's reasonably quick at boot-up, it multitasks well, and I have no problems editing audio or video.
