Summary: Buyer beware... I'm never going to buy something like this online again! Goodbye NEW EGG!!!
Cons: Too cheap! Sound died on computer and since their is no expandable slots...I have NO SOUND!!! Now this computer is one step above a boat anchor!!! I'm going to have to get a new mother board AND case since that's not expandable either!! Unless I get my tin snips out!!!
Pros: very light weight... its like a laptop in a full size case
Cons: same issue as Mary... worked fine for the first day, second day, it would not wake from sleep and I received the boot error too. Even while running, it just locked up for no reason... perhaps it's an issue the HDD? Or... maybe Mary sent hers back and now I have it :P
Summary: I'm thinking that when this machine was refurbished, it needed a bit more attention and still has some bugs in it.
Pros: It looks good and was easy to set up
Cons: Sometimes it boots up. Other times is gives an error message "Error - No boot disk has been detected..." Sometimes it just restarts at random or locks up and becomes totally unresponsive. My diagnosis... Narcolepsy... (Come on. That was funny... I have to laugh to avoid beating my head on the desk)
Cons: This is essentially a laptop in a desktop case. The motherboard is tiny, power supply is small, and it uses only low voltage RAM. Within a week the hard drive failed. The uefi boot is a pain and makes it difficult to run external diagnostics, too. I had to return the computer after the BIOS began...
Excerpt: I have been an HP desktop and laser printer fan for many years. I recently purchased the Pavilion 500-281 model given that the drive in my old HP Pavilion died. Rather than have it replaced (for $200+), I opted to put those funds towards a new desktop.
