This Computer is Awful - A Lemon

  • Summary: I received this computer in July 2013. Within one month, the video card and the motherboard had to be replaced. Afterwards, there was an error received when running the HP Support Assistant software. HP had no idea what the error meant and it is their software. I traded phone messages with advanced support on the issue; it was not and still not resolved.

  • Summary: Important: I did not buy my HP computer from Amazon so in no way does this review reflect the excellent service I get from Amazon or 99 percent of the vendors I deal with here - and I deal with a few. They are mostly superb and / or excellent - and that should tell you something about how I feel about shopping at Amazon - I love it. Before I begin this review - I am in the IT business for almost 30 years.

Is this what you really want?

  • Summary: I have this computer, first off don't buy it. It's a great computer, if you want it, shop around. Trust me. This is an overpriced selection, it's actually a great deal when you find it, but I won't advertise for anyone, I'm not from any store I'm just someone who is using this exact model of computer right now. It has decent insides, only the video card is considered a little slow in comparison to other ones on the market, however, I am able to play all my games.

A lemmon?

  • Summary: Thought I was getting a great PC from a great company. Was initially surprised that it took about 3 weeks or more to be delivered. I needed it quick but HP did not advise me of the delayed delivery until after my order was complete. Once I got the PC, after a couple of weeks of usage, it developed a problem booting up -- would randomly start with a screen asking me what operating system I wanted to run, with Windows 7 being (of course) the only choice.

disappointment!

  • Summary: it has been 2 weeks since I bought this computer and it has crashed every possible way since then. I stop keeping track of how many times I saw the blue screen of death ... I lost 2 TB of data :( I dont even bother to contact HP service center because all they will do is to reformat the computer and send it back to me with the garbage software it initially came with. I truly deeply hate HP products! cheap company, cheap products!

Poor quality and service

  • Summary: When we first started using this h8-1117c desktop it seemed to be fast and good. We soon developed problems with the numbers and letters sticking and running. Called tech service at HP four times about the problem. On the third call they had us reinstall the keyboard driver. They said if that did not work they would replace the keyboard. It corrected the running of the numbers but not the sticking of the letters and numbers.

Horrible Customer Service

  • Summary: 1) They withdrew the money from our card as soon as the order was placed. 2) The product was not manufactured or shipped by the date promised (5 business days). 3) The customer support is all overseas. Attempts to contact customer support in our country were unsuccesful. All attempts to resolve the issue/complaint or gain information about the status of our order, were met with extreme rudeness and a "I don't know" answer.
