Summary: USB Port Location for Inquiring Minds After spending 3 days - some nights - HP customer support chat the answer was found by me. (which is unnerving as I am not a computer tech type) - a simple question should not take days to answer mho. I am not computer tech savvy - but the solution was in my case with this model bought 2/2013 the "blue" that was reference on a HP help forum (take a flashlight and look "deep" into the "pocket" (what ever the open area is) and look for...
Motherboard going out after a little more than a year!
3 September 2014
Summary: I bought this item almost two years ago. The motherboard started going out over 8 months ago. Very disappointed with this item. I also bought a HP laptop about four years ago and the SD card slot began malfunctioning after two years (and it was used very seldom.) I'm beginning to wonder about HP. They use to be top notch in manufacturing good items. But I've been disappointed recently.

Summary: 5 Stars for the computer itself in all fairness I did not buy this here and do not hate the computer itself it has many great features, excellent sound, clear images and color and is very easy to use. I've had it for a while now so the newer ones are probably somewhat different, after the issue below I think I'd go with another brand in the future However I give 1 star for the following I wish to share with you something I learned the hard way and hope to save you from,...
Summary: This item did take a while to get here but with the weather conditions on the mainland, I understand it could not be helped. This works good and was easy to install. Thank you to the vendor for the follow up. Will consider future purchases again. Very satisfied!
Do not buy a HP Product, as they have gone downhill (made in China , JUNK)

Summary: First of all, I did not buy this desktop from Amazon, rather the HP Store. It was custom made to my specs. It arrived (from China, via Mexico) damaged. The front plastic cover was smashed ! I contacted HP customer service, and they sent me the wrong front cover, so they had to send me another shipment. After about a month, I heard this loud abnormal sound, which turned out to be a bad fan on the graphics card.
Summary: The system works as expected except that the DVD drive sounds like a jet engine when it powers up. It eventually subsides, but it's ridiculously loud. The other complaint is a cheap lightweight keyboard, but I had already had a replacement ready for that. I'll probably just replace the DVD drive.
