Summary: As a Senior, Senior citizen this will probably be my last computer and it appears to be all that I have ever wanted in a computer. I bought it last Christmas as a present for myself and I could not be happier with it. Sometimes it seems to retrieve something before I even ask it to. Kinda spooky...or...old age?
Summary: I knew this model was nearing 2 years old when I bought it, but I did because I so desperately needed a functional PC quickly. Even though it was released in 2009 it still has pretty good technology in it. The 1090T processor is still a very good and quick processor and the HD 5770 GPU is still more than adequate for my needs. I will go through the negatives before the positives, as they are what people usually want to hear first.
Summary: First desktop pc in over 7 years. Got this machine in Nov of 2010, and have not had a problem yet. It runs very quiet The only thing I did was add AVerTV HD DVR and updated from the shipped windows 7 to windows 7 pro. This machine blazes through capturing and burning videos, manipulating photos. I am running 2 monitors, watching netflix and surfing the net, or working on spreedsheets without a hitch.
Summary: It would be nice if everything worked, but the SD card reader for loading photos does not work. I spent 2 hours on the line with Tech Support trying to get it working, including a frustrating 30 minutes pulling apart the computer. They are now sending me a new one so hopefully that will fix the issue.
Summary: I have been building my own computers since 1998. I had never purchased an HP computer before, and only chose to do so because of the relatively high level of performance I could get for the price as compared to purchasing components with similar specs. This turned out to be a huge mistake. The unit I purchased (a Pavillion Elite model: not one of the low-cost models) worked fine for the first 90 days or so.
Summary: Upgrading your technology always involves a mixture of pain in figuring it out and working out glitches vs pleasure from the new capabilities. The pleasure to pain ratio with this purchase was the best I have ever experienced. I have had this computer for about a month. My primary driver to purchase it was to edit in Adobe products, particularly Lightroom. with 18 megapixel RAW images.
Summary: I have the desktop for about a month. I purchased this one for photo editing. Most of my photo file size is more than 20 M, my old PC becomes too slow. 470F works as other reviewers said, smooth. It is also very quiet. I give it a 3 star because 1. the first one I got had the wrong operating system (32 bit), I returned it, and purchased another one. 2. the next one, it's CD tray jammed when closing. I have to hold down the door to get it closed. 3.
