Hard drive dead

Denyo "denyio", Amazon
26 March 2010
  • Summary: I bought this computer 15 months ago. I am an average user, mostly using the browser for web activity and for creating Word documents. It had been performing well, but then the mouse starting to not respond. A week later the hard drive is dead. What kind of trash computer lasts only 15 months?

Small Upgrades Do Wonders

Jason Norment, Amazon
7 August 2009
  • Summary: I originally bought this computer to replace a laptop and an older HP desktop that I was currently using. The thing that jumped out at me was the price and the quad-core. I was weary about using Vista, especially 64-bit but it works better than expected.

Supplement to prior submitted review, Will not install MS Vista Ultimate 64 Bit

David L. Roberson, Amazon
7 August 2009
  • Summary: Following up on my prior review (which has not yet been approved/posted) I attempted to install Vista Ultimate 64 Bit on the machine and it would not take; i.e. the installation said this computer would not take the install and it kept Vista Home Premium 64 Bit installed.

Cheap and very powerful

Michael N. Davis "MikeD", Amazon
7 August 2009
  • Summary: We bought this in package form along with an HP monitor and printer to replace our aging desktop. It completely screams when asked to do anything multimedia related, and cruises on native MS programs like Office 2007 as well.

Horrible service!!!

Unhappy customer, Amazon
7 August 2009
  • Summary: I bought this computer in the middle of March and began having problems within the first week (random crashes with a Blue Screen). After several phone calls to HP technical support and after doing all the troubleshooting you can possibly think of (I'm still guessing as to why I was the one doing all...

Adequate for the price

Rudeboyelvis, Amazon
7 August 2009
  • Summary: Been in the market for a new PC for a while and wound up purchasing this one yesterday, locally from Office Depot (sixty dollar rebate enticed me over the edge ;) ) Initial impressions were that it seemed slower that I expected a quad core processor to run but it is still plenty fast (downloads and...

Ray E. Baker "Ray Baker Electronic Guy", Amazon
6 August 2009
  • Summary: This unit replaced a HP unit which gave good service. This unit is superior in a number of ways. The quad core makes for much faster action. There are many new improvments which I am finding each time I use it. At this time I am well pleased with the purchase and reccoment it.

OK for the price

Parkin, Amazon
5 August 2009
  • Summary: This computer is fine if you just do web surfing and basic tasks. It is more responsive than my Gateway Core 2 Duo with 1.86 GHZ and 2 GB of RAM. Also on the plus side, I haven't had anything malfunction. But it's not as responsive or fast as I would have liked after buying a quad-core.
