SLOW COMPUTER!!

GeraldPeterson, Office Depot

  • Excerpt: Let me be clear - I own an HP Envy series computer (actually I bought two of them for my business). Believe the reviews that say "this is a slow computer"!! Because it is an exasperatingly slow computer! And I even purchased the upgrade 12 GB of RAM and it is still very slow. My recommendation (based on 7 months of experience now) - stay away from all HP Envy series computers - they are very slow.

Good compromise

  • Summary: I'm replacing a 3.5-year-old Hp Pavillion and this Envy is only marginally better in terms of performance. I was a little disappointed there were no options for an SSD at all, or larger PSU, or better video card (the next model up offers a GTX 765 I think, but the price was exorbitant).

too early to tell, have had problems

  • Summary: I eagerly anticipated this new tower. The helpful sales people at HP touted it as one of the top units due to the processor and such. After set up, it locked up.I had to restart multiple times the first couple of days. This was very frustrating . With further use, it appears windows updates alleviated some but not all of the lock up problems. Still too early to tell how I feel about this machine. So far, I am disappointed. But things are looking up.

  • Summary: First of all my name is Bob I am Sandra's husband and I ordered the Envy. Very little instructions particularly which USB ports are high speed. Windows 8.1 has crashed numerous times. Almost on the verge of junk for me. I have used nothing but HP products for 14 years but this is my last one. The one I had before was a Pavillion 1234 . The power supply quit all together and before that the memory began to fail.

I Do NOT Like this Computer!

Oliver Schinkten, Amazon
10 August 2014
  • Summary: I have owned a lot of computers, but this is definitely the worst computer I have ever owned. It randomly shuts off. It freezes a lot. There really isn't much I like about it. I didn't research this enough before I purchased it and got bitten by that.

  • Summary: HP ENVY 700-215xt Deskltop w/ Windows 7(64). Intel i7 4770 CPU, 16GB ram, 2TB 7200rpm SATA HD, 16GB mSATA SSD Cache, plus ... replaces my 5 yr old HP laptop. Primary use is a home audio workstation for music production, Finding it excellent at recording (via Reaper DAW and various VST's) for backing tracks. No noticeable latency problems from midi keyboard to output through sound board. True test is with an audio interface, purchase is scheduled for next month.
