Summary: When having ATT support plus try to install ATT tool box, after 2 1/2 hours could not get it installed. Called help number for the "Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher" and was told it would cost $99.00 to have a technician look at the problem. So much for the guarantee.....
Summary: I bought this to replace an ancient P4 2.6gzh that I was using in the bedroom to stream netflix. This system is more than up to the task of basic streaming and video playback. I reformatted and installed win 7 x64 just incase I ever wanted to add more RAM. The product key included activated windows with no issues.
Pros: For a little bit more than the price of a windows 7 key you get a complete system. Granted this system is old, however the core 2 duo is a great processor that's still up to web browsing and internet streaming, which is exactly what I was looking for.
Cons: Biggest issue for me was that the displayport is video only. This means that even with a displayport to HDMI adapter you will not get audio to the tv. I ended up using the VGA output to the tv (thankfully my tv has a vga input) It would have been nice to have an all digital signal to the tv. The picture, and audio still look and sound great. You could always remedy this situation with a cheap low profile HDMI video card.
Pros: This PC is the easiest to open up and make changes. It uses a "tool less" case. I added a video card and changed out the DVD for a DVD burner in very little time. High quality unit albeit a little long in the tooth. You must use half height cards and be sure to install the video card in the Black PCIe slot. (it will disable the on board video + the audio). Very quiet.
Cons: None you get value for money when it's on sale.
Summary: The computer is as good as I hoped. Only 2 problems. 1. 197 windows updates before I could do anything else. ( not the sellers fault I know.) 2. DVD drive will not open---makes noise but not open. I have external DVD drive so I use that rather than sit thru all those windows updates again if I sent it back. I would recommend to a friend but tell him of my issues.
Pros: These are really well built business class PCs. They have reasonable computing power and storage and, after buying three of them over the last five years, I've been quite pleased with all of them. All three came very clean inside and out and fully functional. A excellent system for very little money.
Summary: I bought this refurbished machine from Wal-Mart, thinking at least a company like Wal-Mart would regulate the products they endorse from third parties on their site. My naivete has been corrected. A pirated, counterfeit version of Windows that prevents you from fixing anything, installing anything or using software / hardware... the DVD drive is completely sealed shut and the drive just keeps banging against it trying to open.
Summary: Early delivery, excellent setup, quality much better than expected. I had to replace my laptop and this purchase was a great buy. If you don't need a leading edge machine, go the refurbished route and save a bundle of money.
