Summary: Good value for a system that includes Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit. I used the system to replace an old XP computer in a business network. The new system is faster and provides better security. The system is only used for email (Office 2010) and internet browsing.
Pros: Low cost (under a hundred dollars).
Cons: The exterior was pretty beat up (dropped one egg for this). This did not affect the functionality of the system in any way. Some wear was expected as this is a refurbished system, but the wear was more than I expected.
Summary: I've bought three of these for customers who wanted to upgrade older systems/transition to Windows 7 on a budget. Despite the description, these are Athlon X2-based systems, not Athlon IIs. They come with Athlon X2 2.6GHz chips.
Pros: Windows 7 64-bit, 4 DIMM slots, adequate USB ports, front USB and audio, one of the larger hard drives in systems in this price range
Cons: NOT an Athlon II-based system, iffy for any kind of gaming application due to restricted interior space/lack of cooling but would work OK with an inexpensive, low-profile video card for light gaming/multimedia applications.
Summary: Still think newegg is one of the best, but when they sell DVD-RW drives for $15, it's frustrating that they can't replace the drive and deny responsibility for the information stated on their product page.
Pros: Great price for what you get. Runs very quiet. Runs fast for what I need.
Cons: The description of the computer clearly stated it comes with a DVD-RW drive. Quote below directly from the product page:
