Summary: It seems that this computer has an integrated mother board and therefore you cannot replace any individual component you need a new integrated board which means a new computer. Thanks Gateway, I am never buying another thing from you!
Summary: Today my second Gateway broke down. First one went back 3 times and now more trouble. Second one ker-plunk after one year. Previously, I could talk to tech support but now you must have IMPOSSIBLY SMALL ID NUMBER before you can reach them on the phone or online. Computer #1 is an SX2851-33 and #2 is an FX 4710, but I'm going to post a one star on as many Gateway products as I have time for. I don't know where to go from here...
Summary: Right out of the box, locks up, no error messages, just will freeze! Gateway suggested to write down the error codes after I told them it had none, they suggested to open the task manager and close out programs, after I told them it froze! Still working at it, for the money I paid for this thing they should be alot more useful!!
Summary: I'm so disappointed with this purchase. First of all the computer had a screw loose in the inside. When you moved the unit the screw rolled all over the inside ( badly assembled). Then had to run the recovery system because windows was not installed properly. But worst of all the six usb connections at the back of the unit are not working at all.
Summary: I spent years working in warranty and customer service in a non-electronics related field. In all my years, I have never had to deal with a company as rude and irresponsible as Gateway. If you buy a gateway product, you had better hope the product does not fail (which mine has repeatedly). Gateway's customer service is the worst I have ever experienced. If there were negative stars for customer service I'd give them.
Summary: I bought a similar desktop less than 6 months ago. I cannot write the review on it because it is no longer featured but I had to tell my story. This desktop has always ran slow. I called Customer service last week and tried to talk to a woman in another country. I could not understand her and she could not understand me. I did understand her telling me that I had a Trojan virus and that the computer came with it.
