Excellent Machine

Kevin B., Newegg
22 April 2011
  • Summary: Some idiot rated this computer 1 egg because he couldn't install a probably pirated copy of microsoft office. Ignore the idiot.
  • Pros: Small - Quiet - Powerful - Cheap A great deal for the price - unbelievable never crashed - never had any issues whatsoever with anything, owned for a little less than a year. It's a great HTPC
  • Cons: Graphics doesn't play starcraft 2 on medium settings. But that's because starcraft is a beast.

Unable to install MS Office

Filip S., Newegg
25 December 2010
  • Pros: Great form factor, quiet, quick for what my mom needs
  • Cons: For the life of me, I can not get Microsoft Office installed. I've tried 2010, 2007, none will install. We kept getting the error that there was a problem with the Microsoft installer as it was corrupt. We reinstalled Windows, still received the same error. Sent it back to Newegg, and received th...

Great small computer

Pedro M., Newegg
30 November 2010
  • Pros: Love the small size and how fast Windows 7 starts up. More than enough power for internet browsing, Office & Lightroom. The HDMI output is a great addition.
  • Cons: Keyboard and mouse are wired, but that's expected at this price point.

Fast and affordable

James C., Newegg
7 November 2010
  • Summary: Small size makes it handy right behind my monitor - can reach the ports and memory card reader slots. Uses less electrical power than a full size PC
  • Pros: Very fast and quite.
  • Cons: minor drawbacks - keyboard and mouse are too small for my hands. Using my old HP keyboard

Purchased several of these

Alfred J., Newegg
10 September 2010
  • Pros: I bought 4 of these for a local library and 1 more for a High School. Had no issues with any of the 5 I bought. All worked fine out of the box and were speedy enough to satisfy basic needs. Web/Email etc... Haven't had to deal with tech support and hope never have to.
  • Cons: I really don't like small cases with non standard power supplies, but the price was right and it is a compact unit so I opted for it despite the PSU.

Sweet

Roger D., Newegg
4 September 2010
  • Summary: Despite my gripes I still have to give them 5 eggs for trouble-free and good value product. My customers are not gamers, btw, and don't need special graphics cards, etc.
  • Pros: I totally disagree with the complaints of the earlier reviewer. This is the 4th one of these I've purchased for customers in the last year. They get newer hw/sw each time in the same cabinet for about the same price, i.e. it just gets better. I have had no problems with any of them and I don't ge...
  • Cons: 1. Cheap plastic linkage between the dvd ejection button and the drive button. Takes a specific panel layout on the drive if you ever have to replace it, plus it has to be a vertical-capable tray. So far I haven't had to deal with this. Customer has to learn to press the button very hard to eject...

Nice package for the Price

Bruno V., Newegg
1 September 2010
  • Summary: New Intell Processors are the best out there right now! Would recomend to Friends and Family!
  • Pros: Small and very quite. Powers up fast with lots of memory and low power consumption. Have it set up to a Asus 18inch lcd monitor and the colors look amazing compared to my last desktop. Have no issues so far and very little bloatware. Love the i3 processor for the price!
  • Cons: Limited space to upgrade.

Good So Far

Timothy P., Newegg
20 August 2010
  • Summary: After initial set-up, I have had no problems with it. I have it going into an Onkyo TX-SR607 Receiver (HDMI Input) and then out to a 57" Hitachi rear projection CRT HDTV (HDMI out). It took me a while to get it to look decent on my TV but that is just because it is an older rear projection HDTV.
  • Pros: Small footprint. Low power consumption. Integrated HDMI. Strong 802.11 b/g/n wireless with external antenna with suction cup on the bottom of antenna.
  • Cons: When I powered it up for the first time, it went into the BIOS. It kept going into the BIOS with each subsequent power-on. You would think that the computer would already be pre-configured. The instructions are very vague but I finally realized I had to press the <Alt>+<F10> keys after the "Power...

JUNK- No Customer Support Available

Parent C., Newegg
11 August 2010
  • Pros: None that I found
  • Cons: Wouldn't boot consistently. Could never connect to internet by wire or wirelessly. I can deal with issues, BUT here is the best part - I could not get help from Gateway because they said my SN was not a valid ACER computer. Called a dozen times and could not get past that prompt. Tried online sup...
