Summary: I had my first computer back in 1995 and have owned so many since. I have bought thousands of items online; there is not one that I regret more than this PC. It has been nothing but trouble. It is slow, has weird hard to fix errors that forced me to contact level 2 Microsoft technicians.
Summary: I'm forced to give at least 1 star, otherwise a zero is more appropriate. Machine worked great for about 9 months, then it completely crashed. Gateway fixed it under warranty (at my expense to ship it), only to have it break about 3 hours after it was back at home...same issue.
Do not, do not, do NOT purchase from this Godawful company!

Summary: I have had two relatively minor problems with my PC in the several months I have owned it, one relating to wireless capability and the other to the PC's interface with my monitor. Gateway's "customer support" is frustrating beyond belief.
Summary: I've had this computer since March 2010. The computer crashes because it gets too hot. I watch videos in my browser and the hard drive--which is cramped into one end of the box without proper ventilation--over heats and shuts down the computer. I have returned for repairs twice.
Summary: Purchased this Gateway to replace an aging Pentium 4 Dell for my wife, who said her computer was too slow to do anything on. This Gateway was setup quickly right out of the box and I couldn't believe how snappy and responsive the computer was.
Summary: My Dell computer was 7 years old and sooo slow. I researched a lot of new computers and finally decided on the Gateway SX2840. It has been a dream so far. I have given it 4 stars only because I haven't had it long enough to see if there are any glitches.
Summary: I purchased this as a gift for my husband for fathers day. It arrived in plenty of time, was boxed just fine. But we could not get it to start up. It would say"starting windows" and shut down. I tried everything even safe mode.
