Pros: Great processor, i7-920 quad core with 4 virtual cores (behaves as an 8 core) Good graphics card ATI Radeon HD4850 w 512GB discrete memory Good memory 3GB DDR3 Good 750GB HDD multiformat DVD +/- RW Drive with Labelflash 15 in 1 card reader
Cons: After about 1 1/2 years, video card failed. No problem, it was time to upgrade anyways. I installed an XFX Radeon HD 5770 with 1GB DDR5 discrete memory.I also added 4GB of Kingston DDR3 memory. Total memory now is 7GB.
Pros: Great price for a gaming computer, easily upgraded, has played everything I've thrown at it for the last 2 years at high or max settings at 1920x1080, lots of expansion potential
Cons: Some overheating issues (the case is tiny), interior is a bit cramped, and it's completely rediculous for Gateway to package so much bloatware on a system that's obviously meant for gamers who aren't interested in any of it.
Pros: Quad core has yet to break a sweat. Nice design and features for the money. Large hard drive, room for expansion, and handles gaming well. Can barely hear the PC running. One of the best PC's in this price range.
Cons: Another gig or two of memory would have been nice OOB, but the system will accept.Gateway as well as other PC manufactures have cut their scope of support. If you call tech support be prepared to reformat to original factory condition.
