Summary: I purchased this Gateway DX4350-UR21P Desktop (Black) from Amazon on January 12, 2012 and is continues to work perfectly! It was so easy to set up. It is super fast and I haven't had one single problem. I love the sleek look. My add-ons are all purchased from Amazon: Onkyo HTX-22HDX Ultra-Compact HD Home Theater System (Black) Samsung 52" HDTV Hauppauge 1213 WinTV-HVR-2250 PCI-E x1 Dual TV Tuner Samsung Electronics CLP-365W Wireless Color Printer Logitech HD Webcam C310
Summary: I purchased this computer recently at a steal for about $300. I got it after another computer I purchased for almost $500 did not even work(broken video card). I bought this computer and all i had to do was spend a little money on a better video card, and a power supply. I saved a couple bucks and ended up with a computer that surpassed the specs of the other computer. The wifi capabilities alone should make this a sale for anyone looking for a work/2nd computer.
Summary: bought this through compusa, upgraded the powersuply to 500 watts, added a 460 SE 1gb graphics card and I can run everything at 60fps on a 1400x900p monitor. I recently added another 2gb for memory and will upgrade my GC to 570 and I'm done for the next 2 years. I thought about getting a SSD, but the HD is just fine and I like the 1.5tb of storage.
Summary: I bought this computer through a relative, for a friend of mine who asked me to bring it for them. I t remained in the box for about a month, because he was moving to another house, planning to set it up upon finishing the move. When he finally set it up, and and plugged in the power cord, the led lights turned on, fans started to spin, the hard drive etc, but after looking at the monitor for 3 minutes, nothing appeared. No BIOS screen, nothing!
Summary: Bought this last Christmas based on reviews here. For the price it works great. No real issues with it except the case could be better. 1. It has external lights on it that keep it lit up all night like a christmas tree if you leave the computer running 2. The plastic on/off switch on the top of the computer has no quality to it.
Summary: Well the computer worked great for 3 weeks or so. About 33 days after purchase - and 3 days AFTER the ability to return it to Amazon for a refund or replacement - it started putting itself into power save mode. My wife, whom I bought this for as a birthday gift, was advised that amazon could do nothing as it was past that 30 day mark and was told to contact the manufacturer.
Summary: This computer is a good deal for the price. There isn't a ton of extra software to slow the system down. It has run quickly with most my programs and games, and hasn't had too many issues. The only problem I did have was with both the wireless and wired internet cards. Both had problems reconnecting when the computer came out of a sleep state. I had to search the internet for the updated drivers which fixed the problem. Good computer overall. I purchased two of them.
Summary: Slick and sleek and all that a new Multi-core PC should be. Except it's sold as an expandable system, with open slots to accept more memory or PCI. But ... you cannot open the case. And when you contact Gateway tech support, you learn that a user opening the case could violate the warranty. Instead, you are told to use their network of 'local fee-based support agents' who can do this for you. Also, there are no manuals for this computer.
Summary: Love the Computer. fast. My wife uses it more than I. After a couple of months I sat down to it and it was in sleep mode. I hit the keyboard to wake it up. It makes a rattle as the drive arm comes out of sleep mode. Maybe for a short second. My wife says "It always does that". I run a disk scan for bad sectors and..none. I read an article about a guy that had this problem and the drive read arm was catching on the rest,(which also has the disk separation tabs below it).
