Summary: I have had this computer for over 4 years. It's been used for Graphic design and gaming and it performs very nicely! I have had Fireworks, Photoshop and Dreamweaver running simultaneously and no problems!
Summary: I chose this Gateway because I had a Gateway laptop for 5 years that worked very well. This pc, however, with all of the latest power and speed applications, is very slow and "clunky" I have added RAM to max it out and tweaked it to the best of my knowledge, it still remains slow to respond. I will go back to Dell desktops in the future.
Summary: Item arrived on time, and in perfect condition. Very happy with the product performance!!! Very nice looking too!! I waited a long time to decide, and feel I made the right choice. Adding comment, we were so pleased with the product, we purchased another one for my daughter. It arrived on time and in perfect condition.
Great computer for 4 months, nothing but problems now
4 February 2012
Summary: Update 2-27-11: This computer has now been out of commission for two months. I paid to have it shipped to Texas where the video card was replaced, but I have had nothing but problems since I got it back. I am reluctant to call Gateway customer service because my prior dealings with them were one of the most frustrating experiences of my life.
Summary: This Gateway replaces a no-name computer (CTS)I bought in 2004. It had been upgraded a couple of times with more RAM plus Windows 7. It worked fine but I just thought it was time to go to a multiprocessor with 64 bit Win 7. Setup was very easy, no problems. The only I can tell that it is faster than the previous computer is the speed with which Norton goes through it's file scanning. Instead of hours it's just a few minutes.
Summary: My new computer locked up on numerous occasions over a three day period. The desktop icons would dissapear leaving a blank desktop with no way to operate or shut down other then powering off. Also at times, the icons were present but not operational. They could not be moved or activated. In disgust, I exchanged for another DX432009 and now have the same problem. The icons dissapear and I can not access or shut down in the normal way.
Summary: I originally wanted to build my own Home Theater computer. When I saw this unit at the same cost, I decided why build my own? Well, the answer is simple, for the same money I could have a much better system. Pro: 1. Very quite system, just what you want for this purpose. 2. RF wireless keyboard and mouse-allows you to put unit behind a cabinet door. 3. Everything was installed and worked first time. 4. MS Windows 7 Media Center is great Con: 1.
Summary: I have had this computer for about 10 months and have had zero problems with it. It's fast and is just what i need to get my work done. I love that it has lots of USB ports to help me plug in all my gadgets. Still runs like new.
Summary: This computer has had problem after problem. The biggest problem is the useless warranty. Gateway requires you to send the computer to Texas at your own expense to get a warranty repair. And then they send it back without fixing it. Being technically oriented, I managed to fix the first two problems, faulty USB ports (loose internal connector) and a BIOS issue (there was debris under the battery).
