DX4300-11 Issues

Barry A. Pockrus "Siyat", Amazon
27 November 2010
  • Summary: I'll get to the point. This computer is crap. The computer sold to me by Best Buy had a corrupted hard drive with Windows 7 installed. 5 minute load times to get into Control Panel or any other place that was local to the system.

T. Hill "thcreations", Amazon
3 March 2010
  • Summary: I just purchased a second DX4300-11 for my office, at $449.99 why not! I liked the specs on this machine and paid $699.99 for the first one Jan 1st of this year. I have to say after reading "runmans" review, I disagree.

No Help from Gateway

Joseph N., Newegg
17 January 2010
  • Pros: None
  • Cons: After using my DX4300 for a couple of weeks, I started to notice increasingly slower internet speeds, to the point where web pages would fail to finish loading, and I couldn’t download software updates at all. Meanwhile, my two old computers that share the same network and DSL connection continue...

A good machine lacking several things

Thomas M. Taylor "runman", Amazon
2 January 2010
  • Summary: this computer bench marks slowest in it's price range with quard processors. The video card is sub standard and upgrading the video card will include replacing the power supply of the computer because Gateway placed a 300 watt power supply, and the on board video has no ability to have dual...

Great Machine

Andrew Q., Newegg
27 December 2009
  • Summary: It's a great computer for the price my family got it for. My parents who are older needed a fast computer that would last them awhile. I think this was the right decision.
  • Pros: 1. Super Fast with the 8 GB of Ram 2. Graphics Card is a little lacking, but for the price great. 3. Speakers sent with it are actually ok for sound quality. 4. Performance test of the computer came out to be fairly high. 5. USB slots are abundant, I don't think I could run out and they are in gr...
  • Cons: 1. Took over a month to get Windows 7 in the mail. 2. Costumer Service was ok... 3. I do not like the keyboard that is supplied with the computer. 4. The button to open the dvd tray is flimsy, and you have to push it on the bottom to open the tray, press on the top, it doesn't open. 5. The card r...

Great for the price.

James C., Newegg
24 December 2009
  • Summary: If you want the most out of your gaming, do what I did and replace the power supply and drop in a video card (I got the GTS 250 for $180 and $100 power supply) and it will run ANY game on max settings.
  • Pros: This is the perfect system for movies, music, etc... If you don't do anything graphic intensive, this will full-fill all of your needs. It will run any game on basic settings (even Modern Warfare 2). It comes with a huge amount of RAM (up to 16gb) and plenty of disc space.
  • Cons: It's not the latest processor, but it's still quad core.

Bad Gateway Customer Support

Thomas S., Newegg
12 December 2009
  • Pros: Good Price. Good Features.
  • Cons: Bad Customer Support. Media Card reader not working. Their online system does not recognize my serial number. I contacted Gateway with my serial number. They replied it was "out of warranty" I sent proof of purchase. They then registered it for me. The told me to use the Gateway restore software ...

Exceeds my expectations

Anonymous, Newegg
8 December 2009
  • Summary: Buy it.
  • Pros: If you're not a gamer, but you're looking for a fast computer with lots of disk space, this is an incomparable deal. I literally do not have any complaints about this computer; it has been nothing but excellent. I wasn't sure at first about buying a Gateway, but now I see it was a great decision....
  • Cons: None.
