Summary: This little computer replaced another giant Emachine knee knocker under my desk that I've had for 7 years. It was a refurbished as well. Frankly I did not want an operating system but this came with Windows 7 and so far so good. I've never known windows to go more than a year without major problems so at the first sign I will install a free Linux OS called PCLOS. I've already checked it out and it works perfectly. It is superior to Windows for what I do.
Summary: I purchased 10 of these emachines to fit behind lcd monitors on small desks, they're an excellent product. This PC has a really small footprint, low price and runs reliably for most applications including web, streaming media and wireless. They have a cool green glow emitting from the bottom to let you know it's running, are very quiet - although two had a subtle high-pitched ring at first, which went away after a few days.
Summary: Very nice and good performance, although I'm still having some "noise" in the sound. Don't know if that's a driver issue. I have the latest driver installed. Connected to a receiver through HDMI. I tested audio with both Optical and HDMI, but still the same noise. Video and other features are very good.
Summary: This was bought to connect to a large TV in order to watch tv and movies online on occasion. And it fills the requirement perfectly. I did not want internet on my TV from my BluRay player, or anything else along those lines, as I wanted full computer functionality, not just a few apps that someone else decided would be all I needed.
Summary: I bought this to use as a media PC. When my Tivo died I wanted something that could do a little more than record TV. I have it hooked up to an Acer touchscreen monitor and my 52"LCD TV. I also have an Avermedia USB TV adapter, 4 port USB hub, D-Link wireless N adapter and 500 GB Toshiba self powered USB external hard drive. The included keyboard and mouse have a USB adapter.
Summary: Like many others, I wanted a small wireless system to hook up to our 50" plasma. I wanted the ability to download movies, tv shows etc. I was not familiar with Emachines, and was worried about what I would get for $299... I can say, after a few weeks use, I am more than pleased with this little "Emachine". First of all, I received unit in three days, it comes well packaged. Set up was really simple and the wireless mouse and keyboard works flawlessly from 25' away.
Summary: I had to return as several needed things on my old computer were apparently not compatible with Windows 7. At least that is what the local repair shop told me. Therefore, I could use them but as soon as the machine set a restore point, they disappeared. I felt bad as the machine is very nice for a home computer and was very good looking and easy to set up. Amazon offers such a wide variety of machines.
