Summary: Not something you want for your "main PC" - but to hook to a TV and watch NetFlix or videos it works fine. Not high end super fast - but gives great value for the money you pay. I like it because it is small and fits nicely on my entertainment center. I noticed that I did not get as good of reception on the wireless for this computer as I have had for other devices in the same location of my house.
Summary: Several reviewers commented about the lack of an internal CD/DVD or s wireless keyboard & mouse on a $300 PC. Is this a realistic expectation? I found the PC to be a good value. Th unit is essentially the equivalent of an Acer Revo R3610 (Acer owns E-Machines & Gateway). For $100 or $150 more, you get a inexpensive wireless keyboard & mouse. What you do get is the HDMI port, which allows you to stream Netflix, Hulu, etc as well as local media files to your HDTV.
Summary: Pretty good piece of hardware but loaded with bloatware. One really big shortcoming. You cannot change the hardware configuration at all. Comes with 2GB memory but the spec says it supports 4GB, so what happens when you try to add memory??? First you try to find instructions to remove cover and there are none. Then you call tech support and they tell you, "it is not recommended", after that the try to sell sell you some software service plan.
Summary: I've had this machine only a few hours. but was caught off guard by the corded keyboard and mouse that arrived with it. My advise is to look closely at what is included in the purchase... Also, as a multimedia machine, I've not been blown away with the downloading TV shows aspect.. Slower than expected.. thou in fairness this still could be a connection or configuration issue. Cute yes! Fast.. not so much.
Summary: Update. After someone's comments about the machine, viruses and Microsoft. Tough to actually split the device and the software. Yes, it's a nicely designed, small PC. Great. Several USB and an HDMI port. Great. Go job eMachine. But from the moment you turn it on and hooked to the internet it's infected with a virus. Really? So, where to vent? eMachine? or Microsoft? So, if you're looking for a nicely designed, inexpensive shell and processor, this machine would fit that.
