Summary: Fired it up straight out of the box, BOOM, got flooded with popups when trying to connect to the net for the first time, so bad we had to shut it down. We only got a Windows 8.1 disc with it, so had no choice but to load it on in order to get the thing to work. Worked fine with windows 8, but lets face it W8 sucks! its a step backward for PC users.
Excerpt: i researched a bunch of out-of-the box models vs. custom builds that had the specs to handle 3d modeling and rendering programs, and some animations. this and a cyberpower pc model were the only ones within my budget...it seems adequate to handle anything ive thrown at it (i've had it for three weeks).
Good computer performance, not sure if Windows or the computer is causing an occasional 'freeze' in Standby mode.

Summary: Performance is great while working. Only issue I have had is unknown whether it is software or hardware related. When in 'sleep' mode after being unused for awhile, usually overnight, the computer occasionally shows that it is powered up, but it will not turn on the monitor. I have to eventually reboot the computer using the power button (holding it) until it shuts off, then turn it back on.

Summary: This is a good computer but it has a couple issues that so far it seems Dell hasn't addressed. Basically the front and top USB connectors are useless. They are intermittent and devices connected to them are subject to disconnecting on their own. After some research online I see that I am not alone with this and that Dell so far has ignored the issue.
Also I had to do some digging to find out what the power supply was and it comes with a 460W power supply which is pretty decent

Summary: I four star this product, simply because it didn't come with a restoration disk. Also I had to do some digging to find out what the power supply was and it comes with a 460W power supply which is pretty decent power supply. It does come with the Nvidia Geforce GT 720 It runs great, playing Elder Scrolls Online. No issues of over heating whatsoever.
Summary: ----UPDATE ---- after a talk with a Dell technician, I was able to fix the genuine windows problem, by removing the update for windows 7 KB3004394. (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/3004394). This update creates problem for Windows 7, created a false alarm. pro: light weight, great speed. con: not windows 7 pro (product description already corrected to Win 7 home premium) ----old message---- what I received is not what's advertised. 1.
Summary: If you are like me and purchased this computer during a daily deal then it may have come with a Windows 8.1 recovery disc and a sticker on the computer that identifies Windows 8. I was concerned at first but the computer operating system was Windows 7 Professional. So plug it in before you return it! Assuming your operating system is correct then follow these instructions to replace the recovery disc.
Summary: Very nice computer, I would probably give the computer 4-5 stars but unfortunately the listing says that the computer has Windows 7 Professional which I need. Sadly it comes with Windows Home Premium and I am now forced to spend an additional $90 for the Windows upgrade. Edit: Another surprise, the listing says that the computer has a 3.4GHz processor, actually it has a 3.2GHz processor.
Handsome exterior, solid components, plenty of storage, memory, and CPU power. But the case? Not so hot.

Summary: PRO: Fast, reasonably priced; loads of USB and other ports (including six USB 3.0 ports and a block of slots for various camera memory cards) lots of RAM and spacious 1 terabyte hard disk drive. Except for lacking a Blu-Ray drive it makes an excellent Home Theater PC (actually overkill for that use.) With its 8GB RAM and speedy quad-core processor it does a bang-up job of re-coding/shrinking high-definition video.
