  • Summary: I have been purchasing Dell products for 15+ years and this is by far the most unreliable Dell system I have ever purchased. We've had problems with lock-ups, failed to boot, etc. After 3 reloads (yes,3) of the operating system within a one week period, BIOS updates, etc. it is a lemon. The only thing more frustrating that the defective PC is the seller's defective stance of making the the customer pay for the return shipping of their defective product.

  • Summary: Three days after the 1 year warranty was up this piece of junk XPS 8700 went completely dead on me. The first level of Dell tech support I couldn't understand. The second level of Dell tech support I was starting to understand what they were saying. The third step of tech support I finally understood what the guy was saying. After some basic questions he determined that the motherboard was no good. Can you believe that a year and 3 days and the the mother board is shot.

I have not been happy with this workstation

  • Summary: I have not been happy with this workstation. After receiving it I upgraded to WIndows 8.1 Pro, installed my usual programs (nothing exotic - Office 2013, SQL 2012, Stardock Fences and Start 8, iTunes, etc) and have had problems with rebooting and erratic performance. I've been trying to address the issue by troubleshooting - updated the BiOS, all the drivers, tracked down various issues found in the System Event Viewer - but the problems seem to continue.

Misleading listing, should have been listed as used with no warranty

  • Summary: Listed as new, arrived with dust inside the computer case. Expired Dell warranty. Very loud fans. Already registers under a different user have no idea how to change it under my name. The worst investment I made for the money.

  • Summary: I am having a terrible experience with the XPS 8700 Dell I bought in mid-July, 2014. I had a Dell for several years before this one and loved it. I never had to use technical assistance because the computer worked. With the XPS 8700 I have been on the phone with technical assistance continuously since November 22, 2014, sometimes for several hours at a time. The longest stretch was 6 hours!!!

  • Summary: This was a disaster. It broke and dells service sucks. They weren't helpful on the phone and their service replacement was delayed. I'm going to return it. Got 3 days out of it. Was for work.

BAD DELL

  • Summary: product failed after 1y 2months- still under warranty. Service was by a subcontractor of a subcontractor-switched out motherboard, hard drive and processor left with the machine showing an error message- he called dell directly and was told to leave. Device did not work- Dell refused to replace- sent out second tech who changed motherboard and processor- diagnostics showed it worked- but it did not.
