Summary: I always went with budget e-machines and had no problems. I upgrade my computer every 3-4 years. This time around, for whatever reason, i went with the Dell XPS 8500. What a piece of junk. Within six months I had catastrophic hard drive failure.
Summary: I usually build my own computers but when my 10 year old XP box started to go on the blink I didn't have the time to research and build another one so I bought this Dell. Although the computer works well, the smartphone look and layout of the OS(Windows 8) is just horrible.
Summary: I purchased this computer directly from Dell and it looked like a great computer... Benefits, - From the time I pushed the on button to the time it was ready was less than 30 seconds. Blazing fast.
Summary: Dunno what happened to my first review on this. Mine was Windows 8. I was offered a Windows 7 program to install over Windows 8. I did my homework on installing operating systems over Windows 8. No thanks. Returned it without poblem so far.
Summary: I purchase this computer, xps 8500 i7 with same spec shown on this computer on nov. 25 but it arrived Dec. 7 then next day it was dead. Only fan moves 1 second then no more responce after press power button. Call dell customer number and wait 3 hrs to get to the right technician.
Summary: I bought this on Black Friday, thinking that I had got myself a bargin, and a decent platform from which to upgrade... Before it had arrived, I already had in my mind that I would upgrade the video card, as even my old video card could out perform the GTX 640.
Summary: 12:20PM 09/05/2012 First I wish to state that I gave this product only 2 stars because I do not like what I saw or what little I know about the Dell XPS 8500. I have just, today, opened the boxes that contained all of the hardware I ordered from Amazon on the sixth of August.
