Summary: It's nothing fancy nor real fast, but it does what I need it to do...do Google searches, buy stuff on Amazon, take care of e-mail and most important of all, write letters to my members of Congress! I have had it for a year and so far it's been reliable. I have no regrets.

Summary: I know Microsoft is retiring XP this year so it was time to get my father into a new PC. His old one was a Dell Dimension 3000 (yes, that old) and he did fine with that so this was a natural replacement. I will tell you the unit arrived with defective memory and a hard drive with a large, bad spot on it so I had to immediately put in a replacement drive, reinstall the entire OS and put new memory chips in it.
Summary: I bought this Dell desktop computer refurbished, so it's like new even though it's used. It was originally created at the beginning of 2011 but I bought it in July of 2012 for a reduced price. The 4 GB of RAM is more than enough to make startup and shutdown very fast (within a minute or two). One problem I've been noticing in the 1st few weeks of ownership is if I let the computer sleep for more than an hour, it occasionally refuses to wake up.
