Excerpt: I am very dissatisfied with this computer and with Dell. I had the same computer, a Sony Vaio, for 10 years but decided it was time to upgrade. I ordered this computer directly from Dell. I started having issues with it 1 week after getting it. First, a usb port in the back of the computer stopped working. Second, the keyboard stating missing keystrokes while I was typing. I went out and bought a new keyboard and still had the same problem.
Excerpt: Ordered our Dell 537S Inspiron directly from Dell. It arrived about 1 week later. We got it setup, which was easy. It came with Windows Vista. We got a 22" wisescreen monitor and the picture is great. I thought we had just gotten a wonderful computer, but about a week after we started using it, we started having problems. First issue is that it comes with 2 speakers that are horrible. You can barely hear anything even when you turn the sound all the way up.
Excerpt: When I see the Mac-PC commercials on television, I always chuckle. This is my fourth Dell computer, and I simply would not own anything else! Although I am not a beginner, I still need some help to decide what I need and don't need. Dell provides online or phone help so that your new computer will meet your individual needs. Wonderful!!! If a problem comes up, Dell provides online or phone assistance. They'll even call you back to make sure everything is working ok!
Summary: Ordering on-line was very customer friendly. Tired of the lead in ads by an unamed store, I decided to research similar desktops on-line. Turns out they did me a big favor because this is a much better desktop for almost the identical price. Super fast processing by Walmart and fast shipping.
Summary: This product is a little pricey, but it is cheaper than opting for the "Build Your Own" option from Dell. Also, aside from the sound system, I believe that all parts (i.e. the video card) can be switched out in the future if you want to upgrade this model. I am satisfied with the cost and the performance of the computer--a good way to go if you already have a moniter and speakers.
Summary: This was an ideal purchase for me. One of the selling points was that it had Windows 7 Professional already installed. This gave me the option to download the Windows XP virtual computer to the system so that I could run perfectly fine programs that otherwise would not function using Windows 7. But, Windows 7 is great as well. There are those that say that Vista was just fine, but it didn't 'feel' right. I would always gravitate back to XP.
Summary: My company has encountered Windows 7 in the field. We needed to purchase one to test software on. I'd gotten one of these last December, and recently one for our sales department to use. This is a very nice, fast and responsive machine. Windows 7 did move some things around a bit (like the firewall settings). I prefered the Intel CPU over the AMD ones, but that's as much personal preference as professional (to ensure full compatibility with our software).
Summary: Great deal and no real problems setting it up. Grandson did it all in about 3 hours, bringing info from old computer. A few problems in getting used to some different programs. Order was site to store, and very fast.
