Summary: I've been running this machine for over a year without any major issues. The problems I encountered was the DVD draw stopped working after several months. I can eject the DVD draw using file manager eject option. I can't afford to be without the machine so I did not return the unit. Also, I found their support website to be of little help in this matter.
Summary: The computer has been nothing but trouble. Bought it Aug of 2012. The machine would freeze every once in a while. Forced to shutdown hard. Sure enough after a while started receiving a Blue Screen of Death. Called support and they recommended to reset BIOS to factory Default. That yielded nothing. Reloaded the OS from the recovery partition and that also didn't fix the issue. I researched the BSOD codes and it pointed to a hardware problem.
Summary: I have to admit that I am "picky" person. But this All in one PC made me happy. First, I guessed that in such good configuration with ONLY around $1K, the machine should looks cheap...but it did not at all. The wireless keyboard and mouse also made me surprise happy...I thought I have to buy them later.. Meanhile, the way of "Package" is impressed me. Asus carefully packed the PC and used sticky paper to cover all the ports and screen..
Summary: Updated Review 06/03/2013 Amazon finally has updated the description of this computer by removing both the touch screen and the blu ray capabilities. It took me several calls and an Asus Representative to advised amazon that this Model was not a touch screen computer and that it might or it might not come with a blu ray player. Besides that it is a great computer.
Summary: I like most of the features on this computer although I am still in a learning phase as I converted from a very old computer using Windows XP. The screen is beautiful although I am still getting used to how to use all that space to my advantage. Once I find out where everything is in Windows 7 I'm sure I will be better able to utilize the features. There were some items I think could have been designed better.
Summary: PROS: Nice design Good bang for the buck ASUS ranked high for reliability Very QUIET - almost silent CONS: Glossy, reflective screen Even with all of my (blackout) curtains closed during the day, I can still see myself reflected in the screen. If there is even a small source of light such as a lamp or small gap in the curtains, the glare is significant. This is especially a nuisance when watching movies/videos.
Summary: I'm only moderately proficient technically, and tech specs matter very little to me, so please view these comments within that context. This is a no-fuss, easy to set up Windows 7 PC that has rapidly become my favorite computer. I own two Macs and three other PC's, as part of a small business. This version of Windows 7 works with few annoyances (as opposed to an older Windows 7 Dell that seems buggy). I think the biggest virtue is the display, which is large and bright.
