Not worth it

Amazon purchaser, Amazon
6 July 2014
  • Summary: First, let me say the Amazon retailer was more than great--they took off an additional $25 when they found out that this came without a keyboard and mouse. That being said- it is a refurb. From the other reviewers, I couldn't see a new purchase. The one I got was heavily ground-taped, even on the vent holes on the back so I guess that's why its hot on top. Maybe that's why the USB ports didn't work for one reviewer---incomplete ground.(?). I couldn't resist--I opened it.

Saeed Mozaffari, Amazon
18 January 2014
  • Summary: I use it as POS terminal. The sensitivity of touch screen is mediocre. parts of screen are more sensitive of the other parts and the points which are frequenty used lost sensitivity and you must press firmly to make it working. For me a bad exprience!

Terrible touch screen!

John, Amazon
15 October 2013
  • Summary: I had high hopes for this as an inexpensive POS all-in-one. The touch screen shattered that possibility. The screen failed on 3 out of different machines within about a month. It started off OK, but after continued use, several areas of the screen lost sensitivity to the point where you had to tap very hard with a fingernail or other hard "stylus". I was very surprised, as ASUS is a go to brand for me (and my clients).

Good for something, I just don't know what.

Jordan C., Amazon
26 July 2013
  • Summary: Awful in decently lit conditions, you can't see anything on the screen. And the USB ports are underpowered. I was using it for a POS in a retail setting, if the sun was out my employees couldn't see the screen. AND, the computer couldn't power my USB credit card swiper. I It was a waste for me, but I'm sure it would be good for some applications.

Solid but lacking in some spots.

Sean R., Newegg
15 July 2013
  • Summary: You could get better on the same budget, but at this price, with the touchscreen? Hard to beat.
  • Pros: - Reasonable cost
  • Cons: The machine is somewhat slow OOTB. However, with a quick RAM upgrade, everything is much better.

All around great for Point of Sales systems.

Christian M., Newegg
13 July 2013
  • Summary: If you are looking for the graphics drivers for xp, use the drivers from Intel for the HD 2000. I also read that the hard drives used in this machine will eventually fail prematurely, so I will monitor that closely.
  • Pros: This all in one works great as a Point of Sales system. It runs smooth, and cool. It can be used to run Windows XP if you can find the right drivers.
  • Cons: None so far. Although its to early to truly tell.
