Basically- OK

Gerald J., Newegg
23 January 2012
  • Summary: unit is well priced
  • Pros: Running Ubuntu 10.4- Install was excellent. HDMI sound problem at first. Discovered it only works with 2 channel. 5.1 and other HDMI audio settings do not work. The unit has some skipping problems with Hulu. I am working on fine tuning the unit and am looking for suggestions
  • Cons: Some skipping.

A Little Slow For My Taste

Thorstein Veblen "Conspicuous Consumer", Amazon
8 December 2011
  • Summary: i use this box as an htpc for my tv. I primarily use it to stream from my Ready NAS and to surf the web when I want. I like the box as it doen't run too hot and I haven't had any trouble with it in the past six months or so since I have had it. I do have two issues with it however.

Newegg shipping and handing are terible

Quoc L., Newegg
29 June 2011
  • Summary: Shipping and handling from newegg was so terible. They used the original box from asus. The box was opened (they don't even tape it). I don't know that may missing some acessories. Really scary when got from ups with box already opened.
  • Pros: hdmi output, low power.
  • Cons: Very bad design compare to other. Still can not fingure out how to clean the cpu fan. 2 easy places are memory and hard drive. Other parts are pain to open. See other thoughts

Is it 64 bit?

Robert, Amazon
20 July 2010
  • Summary: Yes the N330 processor chip is 64 bit, however the Windows 7 premium version that comes installed is 32 bit. I purchased it to run 64 bit software, I will have to upgrade the OS. This is the reason for only 3 stars. A very nice keyboard and mouse comes with the unit that I purchased at Amazon.

Great product - just not for me

Walmart
13 June 2010
  • Summary: Great little PC for jr high, high school or college student. Definately a good quality pc however has limitations that most adults would not want to deal with. Nice compact design and easily installed and set up. Great little PC for the money.

Not totally ready for prime time

Ray, Amazon
10 May 2010
  • Summary: Interesting unit. PROS: Great size. Has ESata output. Plenty of USB ports and a reasonable suite of HTPC applications. CONS: It runs a little slow. And they say in the instructions that you need to set it up like in the picture -- ie don't lay it flat because (what they don't say) is it runs pretty...

Good but...

A A, Amazon
10 May 2010
  • Summary: It took me a little tweaking to get this to actually function as a HTPC hub outputting at full 1080p. At first this thing was a big dissapointment, out of the box it was not playing many high def videos. After a little pouting I: 1. Updated all of the drivers 2. Installed media player classic 3.

Did not come with operating system as advertised.

Mark Berry, Amazon
9 May 2010
  • Summary: The computer is a nice, functional computer for basic internet use or for running basic Office products. But it was advertised as coming with Windows 7 Home and came with no operating system at all. That makes a huge difference in price and the ability to just plug and play.
