Summary: I did not have to replace the graphics card, but I wanted to. Once I made that decision, it meant I needed to replace power supply as well. So I spent an additional $300 on this machine. You may not have to do this.
Pros: I think this machine is good value for the money. It comes with a lot of memory, good sized hard drive, decent graphics. It also has I-7 and is very very fast. Has a lot of USB connections, and USB 3 as well, many on front panel. A good amount of memory (12 GB). The onboard audio is very good, su...
Cons: I am not impressed with the case, it is somewhat flimsy and the old style where the panel slides into the frame. Also has screws instead of the more modern thumbscrews that work better in my opinion. Main problems with this unit are 1) anemic power supply. I replaced it as soon as I got the machi...
Summary: This stock computer is great but be careful if you want to upgrade. I installed an 800W power supply and a better graphics card in the system. The motherboard seems unable to handle 16 gigs of ram and the graphics card at the same time. (Says I only have 8 gigs of ram.)
Summary: Kinda weird that there was no antenna for the wifi. When I looked in the eManual it said this was optional. I am not a WIndows 8 fan but I won't gig Asus for that. I wish there was recovery dvd's but Asus relies on Win 8 recovery. Not sure I trust Microsoft with my data.
Pros: Fast, quiet, nice design.
Cons: 300 watt PS, WIndows 8, No wireless antenna for wifi.
Summary: A solid computer, and one of the few options available that still came with Windows 7. I will say that I was not thrilled with the very limited warranty -- only 2 weeks or so? -- and the fact that apparently if you open the case at all it breaks the warranty.
Summary: Great machine overall, needs some upgrades, but with a top end CPU, and 32 GB RAM, the expensive bits are taken care of. the GTX 650 included is a very low end GPU for gaming, the PSU actually seems to be wrong for the machine, as the CPU "extra" power port is an 8 pin, but the PSU only has a 4 pin...
Pros: Great CPU, lots of ram, decent MoBo, large HDD, lots of ports, good for charging USB devices, as the USB's are always powered
Cons: Weak GPU, cheap PSU, low expansion possibilities, no front fan possible, can't use second x16 (not full speed, like x4/x8) for anything more than single slot
Summary: Unfortunately, we do not lke Windows 8, but this is not the fault of the computer! This computer is very fast and up to now it is working well and have had no problems with it. Can recommend this product.
Summary: Included software includes Trend Micro Titanium security trial version, Nero essentials 9 and TotalMedia Home Theatre (sic).
Pros: Low price. Good value. Components alone would cost more than the finished computer.
Cons: The wireless card would detect but would not connect to my Belkin router. I'm not sure why. I used a Belkin usb adapter instead. The NVIDIA drivers were not installed. They need to be installed from a separate DVD. Most games are unplayable until the driver is installed. I can see why this would ...
Summary: As opposed to their amazing laptops. Performance is component-based and Asus prob. make and installs the best. I always customize PC before purchase or upgrade afterwards. I can't comment on customer support because I never need them. If you are not an expert, avoid HP at any cost.
