Summary: We are now having a problem with this computer in that it freezes frequently. ASUS has lifetime tech support which is great, but I have to PAY to ship it to them to fix, even under warranty. This is terrible and the CEO is going to hear from me. If the unit is under warranty, one should not have to pay anything if it breaks down. Very disappointing ASUS!
Summary: I just bought asus cm6830 what a hunk of junk slower than grandma with two broken legs slow on internet slow to start up video choppy sound starts and stops cheezy games I play worked better on my 7year old laptop save your money try it b4 you buy it youll see bought at best buy and have no choice I gotta live with the boat anchor buyer beware was told this would work well with the 2gb video card preinstalled with computer what a joke please tell anyone that is thinking...
Summary: The quality of this computer really met my expectations, and was such an upgrade from the E-Machine I had previously. It has more memory than the prior one had, and much better in performance, including speed. I look forward to this computer, when in use, and the old one, was becoming such a nuisance in it's troubles, and speed. I find this one easy to learn new things on, and look forward to all I can learn.
Summary: First off, it did not come as advertised. It stated it came loaded with Windows 8 and it didn't, it came with Windows 7. I was sent a voucher to get the Windows 8 but I had to pay $14.99 for it. Kinda kills the $15 rebate I had gotten doesn't it!
Needed a decently powered tower that didnt have windows8 on it.

Summary: this computer is quite decent with a few drawbacks. It has the gusto to get things done quite smoothly and has been reliable so far. Needed a computer that still had windows 7 for software compatibility reasons, and I have had success with ASUS and Acer laptops in the past. the drawbacks: the power button and dvd try button are identical, led to a few power downs accidentally the asus bloatware is pretty annoying.
Summary: Month into usage and computer slows down. I try to do a system restore which results in a frozen screen "ASUS System Recovery Tool". Chat Live with tech support last an hour only to be told I have to get computer repaired. Will have to send computer to service center. Worst experience I have ever had with a new computer. I'm going back to Dell!!! Also, looked online to see if others had same experience, you bet!
Good package overall, pity they use Seagate for drives

Summary: The unit arrives and was put into service right way, just under a month latter the Seagate 2TB Barracuda 'Green' drive controller takes a vacation. Thankfully nightly back up to another drive will save us once we can get an identical drive. Am coming to love this model (there are many other Amazon vendors still selling the 6830 units) but this experience has forcefully reminded me why we avoid that drive maker whenever we can.
Summary: This was a Christmas present ordered early. I noticed that the Optical drive tray didn't work with the button and assumed that it required a setting to do that and I was more interested in getting things going. I was able to open the tray by clicking the "eject" button in various programs that wanted to open the tray. When I finally got to ASUS support, they seemed to be located on Mars, judging by the VOIP connection quality.
Summary: Had this PC for about a year now and have yet to have one single problem, it's a fast as the day I bought it....well thats a lie becasue since I upgraded this to Windows 8 it's way faster but 7 ran perfectly too. This is a solid system, everything works as it's supposed to, it runs all games/programs I have tried on it, even super graphic intense ones. I can run them on Ultra settings without FPS lag.
Summary: I've owned this computer for 6 months and it has run just fine the entire time. I did have one fairly serious problem when I first received the computer. I had a PCI express video card that I wanted to install. Unfortunately, the power supply was entirely inadequate. So I immediately had to purchase a better power supply in order to install my video card. Pretty much a pain in the tail, but besides that, it's fine.
