Cons: I had problems with the unit when i first bought it, which I had to send it back to ASUS for repairs. Now it is a brick - I turn it on, the light comes on, the HD starts up, then nothing, no BIOS or anything else.
Summary: Dead quiet and rock solid build. Ergonomically designed front panel. Bios is highly intelligent and easy to access. OTOH, Windows 8 which was preloaded SUCKS. I'm getting more BSOD issues than from the days of W. ME! Asus needs to ditch this P.O.S.! I am requesting a downgrade to Windows 7.
Summary: Two keys on the dell keyboard were broken but I had my own Microsoft keyboard as this was a replacement system. After being spoiled by an i-Mac during the interim it took getting used to the slower system with advertising and a hard drive always running but it works fine.
Summary: This computer worked great for a week! I even like Windows 8. But one day it just would not boot. Repair tool failed. Restore point failed. Refresh failed. Even the factory reset failed. Have no idea why it would not work, did not install anything unusual and only added data files of my media.
Summary: This desktop may not have the latest or best hardware on it but if you have a budget then the price is well worth the admission. I bought mine for writing music and it is more than capable at handling the task.
Summary: just switched from an old faithful XP. This one has exceeded all my expectations. Fast quiet. The A8 was a great choice. Just wish that the USB ports would stay powered up when the unit is off.
Summary: This isn't really that bad a machine. That said ignore the part about shared system memory for the video card. A good video card will have dedicated memory and the card in this machine only has 512mb dedicated.
