Summary: No power lead, no upgrade as stated, slow as a snail, constant spinning ball, constantly displayed message 'Safari is causing system to run slow' (or something like) - this was before I even used the PC. It would not download apps i.e. MS Word for Mac, Chrome browser, App Store, I Photo etc.
Summary: I bought the computer while I was in Afghanistan, had it sent home to my wife and kids so they would have a real good computer to Skype with me.........computer did not work, bought an ASUS (new) instead of worrying about this apple computer.
Summary: To begin, the customer service provided by Vertexpc is terrible. That said, the ad for the Mac G5 was lacking information on the unit. In an ad for a computer, I need to know the following items: Size and weight, video card specifics, if it is video adapter capable, memory and storage specifics,...
Summary: I purchased this tower for the intentions of recording but was let down. The people I purchased it from shouldn't be aloud to be on Amazon any longer. The box it was shipped in looked like it was 30 years old and was in bad shape.
Summary: I have been a Mac afficianado for 20 years and owned or useed at least 20 models professionally. I know I will get a low "helpful" rating on this review, but I suspect professionals and some people who really understand where Mac has failed will agree.
Summary: This was my first mac. Panther is great, and I enjoy working on it. BUT, this machine crashes at least once a day. The screen freezes, and I can move the mouse, but that's it. You have to reboot. If not for this problem, the G5 is a 5 star product, but this problem makes the machine nearly useless.
Summary: Firstly, I might get low "helpfullness" scores on this as Mac owners are a brand loyal bunch, and God bless us for it. I have owned Macs and PCs, and used both extensively in different work environments for design work, namely Photoshop, Quark and Illustrator.
Summary: This is a great computer, hobbled by a very weak graphics card. 64MB???? What planet do they live on? You can't even run a basic 3D game on that (not anything new). You are in the right place. A dual 2GHz G5 *is* the right machine. Just keep moving up till you have a 256MB video card.
