Summary: In the past was apprehensive about the Intel Mac's but very pleased with top of line first generation Mac Pro 1.1 with 3Ghz processors, upgraded video cars and 8 Gig Ram. Runs cooler and quieter than top of line G5 PPC machines. Also about 4 times faster.
A $3,000 computer with counterfeit FirePro cards and the specs of a much cheaper PC.

Summary: The Mac Pro has a lot of problems. Nobody really seems to buy them for quality, which is good. The computer is completely unsuited for professional grade applications, and Apple's questionable configuration and outright counterfeit parts make this computer simply unfit to handle professional-grade computing. A common misconception among Apple users is that Xeons are magical performance unicorns. They're not. They have precisely two advantages over a Core i7.
A clever design but balanced for a future that may be too far out to justify the price.

Summary: Ok, i'm going to be the bad guy here. I love this design, most aspects of it anyway, but it has its challenges. The thing is quiet, and it is wonderful to finally have a design that fits on the desk and doesn't cover the delicate boards in dust, but rather sucks air through a tube in the middle. It's well balanced and snappy with the PCIe flash and a ton of power.
