Apple Mac mini (Core 2 Duo 2.26GHz)

PC Magazine
12 January 2010
  • Conclusion: The Apple Mac mini is the entry point for the Apple faithful and is a small, cheap, decent computer, but a number of low-cost nettops offer more bang for the buck, especially since they usually are priced at $150-200 less.
  • Pros: Compact. Quiet. Dual-core performance. Wireless 802.11a/b/g/n and Bluetooth built in. Windows compatible. FireWire 800. More powerful than nettops.
  • Cons: No Blu-ray option. No keyboard or mouse included. MiniDisplayPort is still a nascent technology. 30-inch LCD support requires optional DVI adapter.

  • Conclusion: The Apple Mac mini is still a paragon of design and functionality. But the competition both within and outside Apple has caught up to the mini in price, function, and attractiveness.
  • Pros: Compact, sleek, quiet, and relatively low-priced. Can use accessories from previous Mac minis. Dual-core performance. Performance improves with 1GB of memory.
  • Cons: Only Core Duo, not Core 2 Duo. No TV tuner. No keyboard or mouse included. Smallish hard drive.

Apple Mac mini (Core 2 Duo 2.26GHz)

Jambitz
14 January 2010
