Summary: Unbelivable that macs do not support AVCHD or bluray nativelly .Anyone who has bought an HD camcorder in the last 3 years will be frustrated trying to use a mac to edit there videos. APPLE's solution is either to use there own codec which either creates very poor qualty videos almost like standard definition or creating huge files 5 times the size of your original.
Summary: I have had bad experiences with Apple support. When I review a company's product, I will forgive many things, but not bad or bad-intentioned support. Today I called 1 800 MY APPLE twice and was cut off. Finally on third call, I talked with my Applecare guy. This was about software I bought from Apple months ago which I have never been able to use because I can't get the password. (Photoshop).
Summary: The Mac is an excellent piece of kit. My complaint is about iMovies, which in itself is excellent. I purchased a HD Sony camcorder from Amazon a while ago, and after a little while managed to get "Our holiday" into iMovies. I produced an excellent Movie, due to the software, but couldn't burn it to DVD. After getting in touch with Apple and talking to someone in Currys, I found out that Apple had removed iDVD for whatever reason.
