Summary: One year after purchasing this damaged iMac for my parents, I really regret not returning it. I've used Mac's for years and myself have an iMac. The problem started when it arrived, it was dented where the dvd player is and there was a purple spot on the screen. I contacted the seller and was told I could return it but would have to pay shipping, plus...my problem was I was only stateside for two weeks and wanted to get my parents up to speed on the computer.
Summary: This sells for less than 2700 directly from apple, plus, apple might give you another 10% off if you simply ask. Probably to offset sales tax. Also you get the 4GB video, not this skimpy 2GB. Can't imagine paying this high price unless one was stuck to using their amazon credit card to afford this. Some interesting notes about the newer iMac's, they no longer have firewire-800 port, they no longer have audio-in jack, no longer have a built-in DVD drive.
Summary: I guess that could be an ok thing....for some people....as long as your not losing your limited to begin with apple functionality....no cd/dvd drive for a thinner desktop? Stupid idea. One reviewer said aerosmapce welding......thats a laughable perk in buying a PC. no mention of functionality, or innovations or improvements....but it;s state of the art....Apple brainwashing at it's finest displayed right there.
