Pros: Starts & restarts fast. Works great with minimal app's like Office, Aperture, Photoshop and other same ole mediocre softwares.
Cons: Experience to many problems using CS6 (After Effects), DaVinci (Blackmagic, Red Scarlet), Cinema4D & FCPX. Heavy visual work loads & plug-ins freeze the system, and required rebooting. Should've incorporated Nvidia 2/4GB graphic's card.
No notification of manufacturer's defects or lemons

Summary: Although I just bought a new laptop not too long ago, I have owned 4 Macs before. Half of them were defective. Thank goodness for Applecare extended warranty. I just found out that a significant problem I've been having with my iMac is a manufacturers defect. They did not notify me of the problem, did not recall the defective computers, and will not repair it since it didn't manifest in the form indicated by last year.
Excerpt: I just recently bought an iMac 2 months ago. Two months in and I am already having problems. Alot of programs that i used to run on windows had "mac compatible" on their covers and boxes. But low and behold, after trying to install them in, i would find that only fifty percent of them actually work to some usable extent. Even worse, of that fity percent, i would say only about three of them are still in working order.
Excerpt: This computer is great if you want to make or watch movies, but that's where it ends. Without purchasing an expensive upgrade (for an already very expensive computer), you will find that there are a large number of websites and programs that are not compatible with this computer. Some aspects of the computer have been difficult to learn.
Summary: A lot of parts had been stripped out. The vendor covered himself by including photos and basically saying " what you see is what you get ". The front of the iMac was cracked in 2 places, likely this happened during shipping, as the packing was haphazard.
Summary: Yes, it's beautiful, and the wireless design is really nice. But as two others have noted here, the display is glaringly bright. This was okay while I was using it in an overbright computer lab, but under muted lighting (which is more suitable for work requiring accurate color correction) it becomes a problem, especially with that highly reflective screen surface (why, why, why?). And Apple doesn't really help in solving that problem.
Summary: since i bough the computer i haven't had problems with this machine. i was kinda exited because in the description say it had the external network but i hasnt. i bough a network card for 30 dollars and works fine... and the other bad thing i was that in the description also said that i has the Mac OS 10.5 but that was wrong i had the 10.4.8.i have so missing apps like iPhoto,iMovie and i have no idea if i can upgrade to Mac OS X Leopar
Summary: Nice machine but there is a serious flaw in the monitor that causes grey spots to show up in the upper right corner. It seems to be related to the heat from the graphics card and will appear in a few months after your purchase. There is a huge discussion thread in the apple forums about the dark patches and how they are not covered by the warranty. I've had my iMac for about a month and just noticed them. Makes me sad.
