Alienware Area-51 7500 Desktop PC Review

27 February 2008
  • Summary: Verdict If you are looking for a pre-built gaming computer it is really hard to go wrong with the Alienware Area-51 7500 it performs very well, is ready for future upgrades and looks fantastic. The only real drawback is the price, the system I am reviewing here is about $5200, but this machine uses top-notch components, which aren’t cheap, meaning the price isn’t out of line for what you are getting.
  • Pros: Great performance, Ready for future DirectX 10 games, Upgradeable
  • Cons: Expensive

Alienware Area-51 7500 Review

26 November 2006
  • Conclusion: Simply put, the Alienware Area-51 7500 is an excellent all around PC worthy of serious attention. While a similarly spec’ed self built rig will run approximately $400 cheaper, it’s impossible to ignore the craftsmanship of the internal wiring, the unique bells and whistles, the fine configuration job, and the ease of a single source for support issues, should you ever have any.
  • Pros: Solid performance; feature-rich; excellent cooling
  • Cons: Case design is hit or miss; loud at times, could be quieter
