Summary: Right around the time the warranty ran out, the fan started having issues. It will seize up and cause the unit to overheat and shut down. Upon examining the inner works, it is obvious that the fan is placed too close to stationary parts and cannot turn freely. And there is no fix for it.
Summary: Sent this machine back 3 times in the past 4 months. Each time I was without a computer for 1 1/2 weeks. I kept describing a loud sound and sudden shut down (sounded like a bad fan to me). The first couple of times, they refused to check the fans but replaced the hard drive twice. I finally convinced them to replace the fan. Now it's quiet but it keeps freezing and the screen is doubling and tweaking out. At what point should they replace the unit?
Summary: Major design flaw on this unit. The adjustable arm it rests on is spring loaded and the glass over the monitor is thin and shatters. I had mine set up completely vertical and while touching the screen it slightly rocked back causing the spring to slam closed. This unit is so heavy when the spring closed on the arm it sent it flying forward toward me with great momentum. It landed on my arm and shattered leaving glass in my arm.
