Summary: Right around the time the warranty ran out, the fan started having issues. It will seize up and cause the unit to overheat and shut down. Upon examining the inner works, it is obvious that the fan is placed too close to stationary parts and cannot turn freely. And there is no fix for it.
Summary: Overall, it is not bad. The functionality is great. The appearance is great and so is the versatility. The problem is that the "Touchportal" the driving system behind the touch screen, "Which I never use", Uses so much of the processer speed, that the computer can't handle doing multiple things at once. Example: 3-4 tabs running in one Explorer window, and quick books. It is one or the other! And if itunes is running, forget about using any other program.
Summary: This is a great computer. Very high quality and ready to go out of the box for an intermediate knowledge computer user. Picture looks great, easy to use, very affordable, fast, simple, fun. This computer works very well for everything I do (school, word processing, internet surfing, streaming movies, and etc. I am not a gamer so I can't vouch for you guys but this computer is great for multitasking and I would imagine it would be good for that as well.
Summary: I'm thinking about buying this. I believe the previous review about having slow speed was a result of he having a slow internet connection. It has a fast 2.8Ghz processor, plus Wifi 'N', which should be great. Can't understand why ONE person would report a slow speed; unless, he is an idiot. Think I'll buy one, just to prove him wrong.
Summary: Like the design of all-in-one. Like the big screen. Problem is that it is very slow when using the net. I replaced a 7 year old Sony, which had much less horsepower but it was much faster on the net. I use it as it was packaged by Acer with the Mcaffee security program.
Summary: I was quite happy when I first got the computer.About 30-40 days later, started having issues with the wireless mouse and keyboard. Called co. a few times. They sent me a new keyboard, mouse and transmitter. Not working at all. Latest call to them, they ask me to send computer for them to check, mind you at my shipping expense. You would think that they would at least absorb that, being that it seems to be a defective product.
Summary: Sent this machine back 3 times in the past 4 months. Each time I was without a computer for 1 1/2 weeks. I kept describing a loud sound and sudden shut down (sounded like a bad fan to me). The first couple of times, they refused to check the fans but replaced the hard drive twice. I finally convinced them to replace the fan. Now it's quiet but it keeps freezing and the screen is doubling and tweaking out. At what point should they replace the unit?
