Summary: I bought this Acer Aspire back in January, 2013 when it was $10.00 more. I bought it mainly to watch Netflix on my big screen TV using The HDMI ports. I'm very happy with the performance. I must admit my PC locked up once while surfing the net. I left it alone and it fixed itself. They have been working on our network hook up in my apartment complex, so I think that's what caused my PC to freeze. Otherwise, it has worked flawlessly. A very fast PC for this price.
Summary: Excellent computer! I used it at my church in the sound booth for our overhead projector. It will display dual-monitors excellent. I run my monitor and a projector at the same time. Plenty of speed for this application as well as a great higher end video card. I have had it for about 8 months now and it suddenly just went dead. No power at all.
Summary: Received this computer and it would not boot. Contacted Acer and they stated they did`t support this refurbished computer and they emailed me this statement............................ We have received and attempted to process your fax request dated 05/03/2013. However, our records show Serial Number PTSJWP20012110144B9200 is for a refurbished unit sold via *INSERT STORE NAME HERE* who is fully responsible for all support.
Summary: Was looking for a computer that had Win7 OS. This machine had some very good specs--even 3.0 USB ports. Enough memory for most people's daily computing needs, Quad Core processor, plenty of USB ports. Would have been nice to have had wi-fi on it, but not a big deal since this will be positioned next to the modem/router so running an ethernet cable wasn't a problem. Did make the backup discs since none were included but that was noted in the description.
Summary: For what you are getting, this value is great. Not the latest, greatest, newest of everything, but certainly 5 or 6 years, at least, from being considered old school, for normal people(Techno Geeks go away). A quad core processor, good integrated graphics, good sized hard drive, DDR3 RAM(spend a few bucks more($20) and go ahead and get 2 more 2GB sticks) and Windows 7. 8 gigs of RAM really does make this computer nearly perfect for 95% of users.
Summary: I have had this computer for 2 months and it works great! It plays netflix and youtube videos without any problems. I use this computer everyday for basic web surfing and it's fast for what I use it for. If other reviews say it's slow it may just be the internet service speed they have. It is refurbished so the previous owner smoked around it and it smelled like cigarette smoke when I first opened the box, but within a couple of days it aired out.
Summary: I've been running Vista with a dual core processor and 2 gigs of ram (max) for a while and have just grown tired of waiting for things to open, 2 hour virus scans, etc. I was toying with the idea of a bare bones kit until I saw this- I added an additional 4 gigs of ram and love that it is expandable to 16 gigs with a quad core processor and 4 megs of level 2 cache (that's good, folks) This machine is F A S T! Virus scan in about 20 minutes vs.
Summary: After receiving the computer I immediately ordered another 4g of ram bringing it to 8g which seems to work very well. I was also going to install a much higher video card but the power pack would also need to be installed. I had to install a smaller video card which would not put a strain on a rather small power pack in the unit.
Summary: bought it talked to some people when windows crashed after 3 days. they fixed it for 1 day. they Sent me another one and windows would not load...yes again.... and it made my monitor go haywire...Took it back and got something a little better. I like my PC's lasting more then a few days. I would laugh but some acer's are good. not this one. How could a brand new PC mess up my monitor start up not load and go fuzzy right out of the box. The Acer people were useless.
