Summary: We bought this and had it shipped directly to my husband who is deployed in the Gulf. He was so excited to get it because it is apparently very humid over there, don't ask me to make sense of this. His bedding and towels were never dry so he was in desperate need of this and he's stuck there for three more months. The day he got it, he plugged it in, turned it on, and it blew out immediately.

Summary: ... and this isn't it. It sounds great (Low power consumption, 46-pints-per-24-hours, UV to kill germs and/or mold), but just doesn't perform. Possibly mine was defective, but it ran 24x7 and managed to remove a few pints per day and was never able to get the humidity down to my desired 50%. I wondered why it wasn't EnergyStar rated at only 440 watts for a 46-pint dehumidifier; the answer seems to be because 46 pints is an extreme exaggeration.
Summary: This is the first dehumidifier that I have ever used and it's been great.I live in the South, and the humidity level has been very high this summer. After reading lots of reviews, I decided on this unit and it's the best money I have spent in a long time. Our bedroom is so much more comfortable as this unit as collected at least a gallon of water daily! It's quiet and very easy to use. Wonderful purchase-I would buy it again with no hesitation.
Summary: Works very well for a smaller sized unit. Water tank gets filled up quickly and the UV is a nice feature. However, the UV does keep the room very lit for the night. The light cannot be turned off even when the UV is not selected and this is bothersome as it is quite a strong light!
Summary: This is a fantastic little dehumidifier perfect for a basement or large room. We have split level home with garage & 1 bed/bath on the 1st floor. The home is built into the side of a hill so you may even consider this room a basement as it's lower than most of the house. We've always had a musty smell & damp feeling in this room, but now it's being lived in. We measured humidity (65-77%).
Summary: This baby is awesome! For the past 2 years, I've been using a Soleus 25pint which sounds like it wants to stop working. Although the SPT isn't as quiet as the Soleus, the SPT really works 3x better at dehumidifying. I placed the Soleus in the bedroom since it's quieter. I have to empty the SPT at least 3 times a day and the Soleus about once every 2 or 3 days even though the Soleus is smaller.
Summary: This dehumidifier uses 480W max when sucking humidity. That means 21.7L/11.5W = 1.8L/KWH in 80% humidity - a very energy efficient unit. But this power includes UV and fan also. It is light and easy to port with no sharp edges in unit or bucket. So this is very soft on hands and nice looking. This unit has a fan air direction deflector, the cair can be set to go up or horizontal or in a angle away from the unit. Mostly it feels very quiet.
Wating for this to arrive. Will give it 4 stars now

Summary: I just ordered this de-humidifier. The word quiet came up often in other reviews so that is why I purchased it. Expensive but I have music and photo equipment that can't be ruined. We'll see and will update my review after I get this item.
