Summary: After reading the reviews of this product I bought one unit to replace that old machine I had that stopped working after 7 years of use. We installed that the machine and immediately noticed a high pitch noise which was very annoying and did not seem normal. Since it was the end of the day (we used it in the office) we let it run the whole night. In the following day we inspected that unit and noticed that the water tank was dry, meaning that it did not work.
Summary: The instructions are ANYTHING but clear. Find the on/off switch; go ahead I DARE YOU!!! Called the Fridgidair help line: "Yeah I need help with my dehumidifier...After the m/n and s/n info (that makes you think they are going to look up the tech data and help you) they ask "Where did you buy it?" "What's that go to do with it; I need some help getting it to come on." ..." "Where did you buy it?
Summary: First let me say that Amazon is great and has handled this situation well. But don't buy this dehumidifier. I ordered one, plugged it in and.....nothing. The control panel flashed briefly, then went dead. I called Frigidaire and went through the diagnostics with them. They said the unit was defective and I should return it. I arranged the return through Amazon. They sent me another one and had UPS pick up the defective one.
Summary: I needed a new dehumidifier when my old Whirlpool, purchased in the 1980's finally gave up the ghost. So, I am comparing the new Frigidaire with all of its bells and whistles to old dehumidification technology. First, I really like the way you can set the desired humidity level, and can get feedback on the ambient humidity. Also love the fact that it turns off automatically when the water receptacle is full.
Summary: Purchased several months ago to relieve humidity and eliminate musty odor in one room of my home that stays much colder than the rest of the house in the winter. It works, sucks the water out of the air just like it should. The room feels drier, which means it doesnt feel as cold, and the musty smell is eliminated. I like the timer, in case I don't remember to turn it off. The machine puts out a fair amount of heat as the moisture is condensed and the air is expelled.
Summary: This Fridgidaire unit replaced an old Maytag humidifier. I had never gotten used to the noise and rattling of the Maytag. This Frigidaire is not only a step up, its impressive! It's very quiet, with easy to use controls, and a convenient water bucket with a handle yet! It's a real workhorse in absorbing moisture and just sucks it up. I am using it in a large basement area so I empty the bucket nearly once every day. I wish I had known about this quality unit earlier.
It works for me, and Amazon made it easy to find and compare.

Summary: My dehumidifier arrived earlier than expected and was ready to plug in and begin work. It performs as advertised by Amazon and is quieter than the model I had been using. Pricewise, it was a good deal, and I'm very satisfied.
Summary: I loved this product while it worked! Easy to operate and quiet. Filter is easy to clean and bucket easy to dump. Hose drain works fine as long as the hose is straight and downward sloping - if hose loses its downward slope and is flat it seems to backup and then the water fills the bucket. Easily kept my basement at 50% humidity and I had no problems with the unit. At 53 weeks the Unit stopped working.
